Moulins-la-Marche is a commune in the Orne department in north-western France.
Geography
[edit]The Commune is one of 30 communes that make up the Natura 2000 protected area of Bocages et vergers du sud Pays d'Auge.[3] The site is 21,541 hectares in size and consists of a well-preserved wooded landscape that hosts three protected beetles, the European stag beetle, the great capricorn beetle and the Hermit Beetle.[4]
Points of Interest
[edit]- Hippodrome Jean Gabin - The racetrack was created in 1959 by the actor Jean Gabin who owned land in the area.[5][6] The venue hosts Harness racing.[7] In 1989 the venue was used in the film Ripoux contre Ripoux.[8]
