Origin

[edit]

Cemani breed is not originated from Surakarta, although there is a place called Cemani there. In fact, Cemani is a type of Kedu breed (originated from Temanggung, Central Java), and the word "cemani" means "black as a coal" in modern Javanese (ultimately borrowed from Sanskrit). See "Ayam kedu" article in Indonesian wikipedia for further reference. Kembangraps (talk) 01:58, 15 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Description

[edit]

Unable to find any verifiable images of the skeletal structure of Ayam Cemani, not quite sure it actually has black bones, and it would be best to have a source that actually talks about the bones being black as opposed to the source actually given, which, though in German, only reads the following when translated:

"Lightweight, portable chicken fights with pure shock, long runs, single comb and firmer muscles. Race Typical features are the intense black plumage color and black head attributes and black colored skin and muscles."

No mention of skeleton, should probably be removed for the sake of proper information spreading.
