The turret design was later reused in the BRDM-2.

[edit]

However BRDM-2 articles insists this is false and the turret was designed for BRDM-2 and reused fot BTR-60. Jealousity ? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.140.21.188 (talk) 20:48, 24 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Good observation. BRDM-2 entered service in 1962 while the BTR-60PAI entered service in 1965. So the turret comes from BRDM-2. Regards. - SuperTank17 (talk) 20:51, 24 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

BTR-60 command, communications etc. variants based on BTR-60PAI or BTR-60PB?

[edit]

Currently many of the command, communications etc. variants are shown as to be based on the BTR-60PAI however it seems every unlikely since the BTR-60PAI entered production in 1965 and in 1966 was replaced by the BTR-60PB which was produced until 1976 and was the most numerous BTR-60 variant of them all. Because of that it makes more sense that the command, communications etc. variants should be based on the veriant produced in the greatest numbers.
