Problematic Changes by IP Users

[edit]

Due to a problematic situation, the article Britain's Got Talent (series 8) has been placed under Pending Changes Protection to prevent further issues arising. The matter pertains to a constant, minor piece of disruption by an unregistered editor changing information around, against citations that provide established facts contrary to what the editor is doing. This protection will remain in place to hopefully deter them and allow these problematic edits to be reviewed and nipped in the bud. When the facts for information are confirmed as such by citations, anyone trying to go against it is clearly being disruptive, if the citation's source is not in dispute by its creators and other parties. Golden Buzzer - Britain's Got More Talent

[edit]

As editors might be aware if they watched the recent episode of BGMT, the host Stephen Mulhern pressed the Golden Buzzer for an act that had been trying to audition for around ten series of Britain's Got Talent. However, before anyone puts this into this article under "Golden Buzzer", and includes it into the article covering Series 13, let me point out something here - it is not officially confirmed by the programme's production staff or the creator of the format, Simon Cowell, that Mulhern has the authority to use the Golden Buzzer. It's been speculated before, but never officially stated as being possible. Regardless of any news articles (which are denoted as Reliable Sources by Wikipedia), it is advised you do one thing here:

DO NOT include such information about this, or add in to the article on Series 13 that the act is a Golden Buzzer act, until it can be confirmed officially by the programme or the broadcaster, that this will be standard in the British competition's format. There is currently a debate going on about whether his actions will be counted by the judges and the programme's production staff. GUtt01 (talk) 18:40, 7 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Was BGT filmed at LH2 studio in 2020?

[edit]

The above question is due to continual efforts by unknown editors to claim that filming of the live rounds of the 2020 series took place at this venue, yet no evidence can be found to substantiate this. It appears unconfirmed, and therefore more likely to be untrue. Unless someone can supply a citation or three, from reliable sources, that can confirm that studio was used, it shouldn't really be listed in the article at all. -- Response to 'GUtt01|talk' -- Instead of trying to take ownership and therefore control the contents of this page, try using your common sense and try looking for citations yourself blindly removing information that you yourself have no confirmation is true or false - if you look at the LH2 Studios location on Instagram, at a post made by a make-up artist for the production, in the run-up to the filming of the semi-finals, you will have noticed it says LH2 Studios.

Therefore, I will be relisting LH2 Studios as the venue for the 2020 finals, and you shall not remove it unless you have sources that prove yourself otherwise, which you will not have because the show was, in fact, filmed at LH2 Studios. — Preceding unsigned comment added by LewisInfiniti (talkcontribs) 00:08, 14 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@LewisInfiniti: Two things. 1. I don't claim ownership to the article; I am merely removing things if they don't have no/unrelated/unclear/poorly sourced citations. 2. The recent edit you put in doesn't give clear indication of what was posted as being linked to LH2 studios. I can see it says LH2 on the side, but that is unclear on what it means or indicates. Unless the person was stating "This is me in the LH2 studio for BGT's 2020 series" or something to that effect, the citation is unclear and thus poorly sourced. I have done my best to find citations, but I couldn't find any through the internet. If there is no evidence, then it cannot be stated that the 2020 series was filmed there - no proper citation means that information would be classed as Original Research. I'll be editing the BGT articles in the future regarding POV/OR, poor punctuation, long sentences, etc. Feel free to correct any mistakes I make. Please avoid any unnecessary "amendments" by an editor/IP(s). More to come. FYI only. DJgood2go (talk) 23:07, 25 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Nice to meet you, I am Hatto, a Wikipedian from Japan. I wrote an article about Japanese comedian Tonikaku Akarui Yasumura's appearance on Britain's Got Talent in April 2023. However, this show is not broadcast in Japan, so there may be a mistake in my description. So could someone please help me edit his article? Any corrections or additions would be greatly appreciated.

Axel Blake article

[edit]

Every winner of BGT have their own Wikipedia article, except for Axel Blake. Is there a reason why for this? Just curious... Bryn89 (talk) 15:52, 7 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

For a person to be notable, there must be multiple reliable, indepedent, secondary sources that provide significant coverage. See WP:GNG and Wikipedia:Notability (people) for more info. If you manage to find multiple sources that meet the aformentioned conditions, then he probably deserves his own article. Also there is no inherited notability so winning BGT doesn't magically make you notable. EternalNub (talk) 19:37, 27 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
