Buner is a district of Pakistan, located in North-West Frontier Province. It is part of Swat Valley and before joining Pakistan, it was a part of Swat state.

I won't change anything because I don't know what it used to be, but those don't actually seem to conflict to me, both could have been true... it could have been part of Swat state until it was dissolved in 1969, then part of Malakand until 2000 – cacahuate talk 16:13, 2 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Map request

[edit]

It would be a great enhancement of this article to have a topographical map centering on the plain north-west of Islamabad stretching up to SWAT. __meco (talk) 21:56, 8 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Mistakes

[edit]

Article says "sixt tehsils" but are listed twice. The source quoted only give a single tehsil. Three of the suposed tehsils that are linked are not part of Buner (one in Abkhazia, one in Bulgaria...). Buner Town, I assume that the capital, is quoted in several web pages of news in the web.--88.3.129.67 (talk) 20:05, 13 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

local name

[edit]

The local name of the district should be written in Pashto language because 1) the language of majority is Pashto 2) majority of the residents are ethnic Pashtun. (Ketabtoon (talk) 17:46, 14 October 2009 (UTC))[reply]

Either way, the name is Zila Buner and this should not be changed. Pahari Sahib 17:51, 14 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The name is not Zila Buner, but it is Buner. The word Zila most likely means District in Urdu language. Urdu speakers might use the word Zila, but the locals only call it Buner. (Ketabtoon (talk) 18:03, 14 October 2009 (UTC))[reply]
Sorry I didn't read your revert comment. Even if it is Buner District, the correct native translation is (د بونیر ولسوالی). (Ketabtoon (talk) 18:08, 14 October 2009 (UTC))[reply]
