The red links for historic cable ships that are candidates for an article serve a distinct purpose. When an article is created (I have two in long term development) the the pages links and "What links here" can be effective (unless buried in "Class" templates). Each of the ships red linked here are potentially subjects of an article and should not be de linked without discussion. Elimination of "Class templates" that do not exist and in some cases should not exist is another matter. Palmeira (talk) 10:14, 17 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I'm all for fixing this by putting articles behind the links. Anything I can do to help support the new article creation? And, sorry about the sank/sunk, I misassumed that it was an accident, didn't read enough. Bill Woodcock (talk) 10:22, 17 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Redlinks should not be viewed as errors needing "fixing". There is no time limit on how long it will take for an article to be written. They should only be removed if it is likely they are not notable enough to ever have a standalone article. SpinningSpark 22:56, 13 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
