Jeff's Condom

[edit]

If nobody objects or posts citations soon, I'll remove the stuff of 'Jeffs Condom' - I have (a citizen of melbourne) never heard them referred to thus, and I'm not certain that it has much of a grain of truth. Any objections? Lochok 07:07, 23 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Never heard of Jeff's condom - get rid of it! I thought it was nicknamed the "time tunnel?", after the 70's TV series? I have heard of the cheesestick, but not "Jeff's erection", I have not heard of the "zipper", but i have heard of the "matchsticks". anybody else? --Commking 03:56, 27 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Tollway

[edit]

I am removing references to "Tollway" and replacing it with "tolled freeway", as it better describes the type of road. --Commking 03:59, 27 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Alterations of Roads

[edit]

I think that the bit about "In reality there is always an alternative to using CityLink" is a bit of propaganda (I remeber the controversy and I have heard (from a reliable source, a uni professor) the documents detailing the road contracts did contain that some roads would have to be made smaller to make sure that the motorways would be financially viable. the second bit doesn't really matter to me but the first bit does so I shall wait a few days and if noone responds I shall take it away.Squall1991 10:09, 30 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Is this still SR43?

[edit]

I believe that this was recently changed from being State Route 43 to now M2. Google Maps and Waze both seem to agree. -- t numbermaniac c 08:05, 29 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I found a ViCRoads source showing it as M2, and so I have updated the article - Evad37 [talk] 03:17, 30 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. -- t numbermaniac c 07:24, 30 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Split table?

[edit]

I think the junction list would be better if the table was split, one for the western link and another table for the southern link. Right now it's a bit confusing, and I've seen a split like this used on another article and it's easier to read. -- t numbermaniac c 07:26, 12 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Linkt move or merge

[edit]

Note regarding the recent changes - I thought this was a straight move but it seems to be an existing article Linkt, which is the Brisbane toll system and this is more of a merge. Are the Brisbane and Melbourne systems branded 100% identically? Should it remain as a separate article? I'll go looking through Google News when I have more time but I thought someone reading this might already know... -- Chuq (talk) 03:31, 22 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

This toll road in Melbourne is still called CityLink:

What's changed is that, across Australia, all of Transurban's electronic tolling account names have been changed to Linkt:

None of Transurban's toll roads names in Melbourne, Brisbane, or Sydney have been changed.

So this article should not be merged into Linkt; it should stay as CityLink.

Some extra details needed

[edit]

Hi, I noticed some details are missing from the article and the Transurban article
- Apparently the Calder Freeway interchange only opened in 2006. https://www.expressway.online/gallery/roads/vic/numbered/metropolitanroutes/mr43/02_essendontopascoevalesth/index.html
- What happened to the bunch of companies who managed the freeweay while it was built to just Lendlease (who I think also owns Penninsula Link)?
