New Review

[edit]

[1] can someone put this up? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Breakout (talkcontribs) 03:16, 26 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I honestly wouldn't use NappyAfro, someone used to spam Wikipedia with that website not too long ago. --- Who's the one you call Mr. Macho? The head honcho, swift fist like Camacho 16:33, 26 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Album name

[edit]

I recall reading that 50 called the album "Curtis" because the lyrics were before Get Rich or Die Tryin' or something like that. Does anyone have a source for this? It could be added in the background info. Spellcast 13:47, 30 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I remember it too, I'll search for it one of these days. --- Who's the one you call Mr. Macho? The head honcho, swift fist like Camacho 14:16, 30 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I added it. --- Who's the one you call Mr. Macho? The head honcho, swift fist like Camacho 14:37, 30 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I heard on sky television, on Musflash TV, that the album was originally called Straight to the Bank, after his single- SCB '92 11:53, 5 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Never heard anything about that. That would definitely need a reference, though. --- Who's the one you call Mr. Macho? The head honcho, swift fist like Camacho 13:03, 5 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

XXL

[edit]

Hey has thew xxl rating been released for this yet. I saw graduation received an xl —Preceding unsigned comment added by Trimy67 (talkcontribs) 01:27, 17 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Nope, not yet. What about The Source's rating? Anyone know anything about that? --- Who's the one you call Mr. Macho? The head honcho, swift fist like Camacho 01:35, 17 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

G'n'R

[edit]

In the Curtis vs. Graduation section, it talks about the two albums outselling Guns N' Roses. I Don't think thats good for the article because GNR are not the best selling artist's of all time and not 2007 so there's no need for it! I mean who ever wrote that, get with the times. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.96.84.200 (talkcontribs)

Yeah, well, Billboard wrote it. They thought it was relevant, so their opinion is obviously more important than yours. --- Who's the one you call Mr. Macho? The head honcho, swift fist like Camacho 16:36, 17 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Also, it is obvious that you can't read. It says that the first week sales totals of Graduation and Curtis have outsold the first week sales totals of the two Guns N' Roses albums. It doesn't say they outsold the band Guns N' Roses. --- Who's the one you call Mr. Macho? The head honcho, swift fist like Camacho 16:38, 17 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

SO LIL' WAYNE HAS THE CARTER VOLUME I & II. oh meanwhile while were at it lets put they outsold women and songs part 1 and 2, and possibly chamillionaires mixtape messiahs. Theres alot of 2 part albums out there that have better sales the guns n rose 2 part album so why Gn'r they are a great band but why them punk! who cares, ppl wanna read CURTIS VS GRADUATION not it outsellin some random chosen 2 part album. U wouldn't last as a very good politician or news column editor, I can tell u that right now. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.96.84.200 (talk) 08:08, 19 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

"I'll Still Kill" looks to be the next single

[edit]

It seems the next single from Curtis will be "I'll Still Kill". 50 Cent and Akon are shooting/have shot the video so this is a pretty good indication of where the track is going. Here is the source from MTV: here. --Ayoleftyz 23:45, 22 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yea it is, they have pictures of 50 and Akon on the set here.--KarmaLoop 02:55, 23 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The article doesn't confirm it is the next single though, only that a video is being shot. We will have to wait for confirmation before the article can be created. --Ayoleftyz 03:05, 23 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, the best thing to do it wait untill somebody actually confirms it as a single. Then we can add it to the infobox. --¤ The-G-Unit-฿oss ¤ 11:26, 23 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, for sure. --Ayoleftyz 17:40, 23 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, What we've all been waiting for, confirmation. I have added it to the infobox with a reference which I think is best left for a while incase somebody comes across it and hasn't seen the article. I have also Fixed the chronologies on the other singles and fixed his artist template. I also created the "I'll Still Kill" page with references and info and stuff. The only problem now is to wait for somebody to confirm that one of the other singles wont actually be a single (I doubt he will have 7 singles). I dont think that anybody will actually confirm that because I think that they will just be disregarded. Just out of curiousity, where was the original sources which confirmed the other singles as singles?. Thanks --¤ The-G-Unit-฿oss ¤ 20:40, 23 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I knew this was going to be a single from the first time I heard it haha, but I doubt he will stick with "Come & Go" or "Follow My Lead" as his sixth and seventh single. He will probably pick his sixth single out of "All of Me", "Fire" or "Peep Show" and that will be it. --Ayoleftyz 21:18, 23 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, that's what I was thinking too lol. This was easily the best track on the album. --¤ The-G-Unit-฿oss ¤ 21:20, 23 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

XXL

[edit]

How come xxl havn't rated this album yet? Trimy67 01:12, 15 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No idea, they probably don't want to offend 50 Cent. Daniil Maslyuk 08:27, 15 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Haha. Ahem, saying the chart battle between Kanye and 50 is 'a great day for hip hop' is like saying George Bush and Paris Hilton getting together is a great day for the species. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.100.78.181 (talk) 05:32, 16 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That's personal opinion, but no one in the past year or so has sold that much on their opening days, I say that's a pretty remarkable accomplishment. Also, what's up with the Vivendi business? How could UWC be wrong for so long? Obviously someone must've pointed it out and said Vivendi's claims were false.. I don't know why that is still on the page.--KarmaLoop 07:22, 16 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Having Vivendi's sales on there is not a bad thing. Theres been nothing to say that they were wrong (although they most probably were), but it is also written in a NPOV way. It's better to leave it and let the reader decide what they want about it. It's still a fact that they claimed Curtis sold 2 Million. --¤ The-G-Unit-฿oss ¤ 16:48, 16 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I guess that's true- but I don't think UWC would be wrong for so long... but oh well, like you said, they are probably wrong.--KarmaLoop (talk) 06:10, 17 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Good article nomination on hold

[edit]

This article's Good Article promotion has been put on hold. During review, some issues were discovered that can be resolved without a major re-write. This is how the article, as of November 18, 2007, compares against the six good article criteria:

1. Well written?: The last sentence of Background belongs either in Lyrics or in a larger paragraph. Single-sentence paragraphs are not acceptable writing. The Production section also needs some consolidation along these lines.
2. Factually accurate?: Proper references and inline citations.
3. Broad in coverage?: Covers all major aspects concisely.
4. Neutral point of view?: Fair representation of all significant views.
5. Article stability? No edit wars, etc.
6. Images?: Accounted for with license tags and fair-use rationales where necessary.

Please address these matters soon and then leave a note here showing how they have been resolved. After 48 hours the article should be reviewed again. If these issues are not addressed within 7 days, the article may be failed without further notice. Thank you for your work so far.— VanTucky Talk 23:51, 18 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Looks all done to me, congrats! VanTucky Talk 02:20, 20 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

About the above image, I'm pretty sure most people would find this version a lot more better and more true to the original cover than this one. Any thoughts? Spellcast (talk) 20:46, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I actually looked on here today, and it looked changed. I like the first one in post, it doesn't look as red/brown. --JpGrB 20:51, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I agree. A look at the actual physical cover and a Google image search shows the first one looks more like the original. Spellcast (talk) 21:36, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
That's why I revered it, but then I seen the same image.. —Bruce Wayne of the Rap Game (talk) 00:56, 28 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"Smile (I'm Leavin')" sample

[edit]

What sample was used in the song "Smile (I'm Leavin')".--Shadyaftrmathgunit (talk) 18:50, 18 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

What sample? the "classic" thing? Dead Wrong said it was Watermarking since K-Lassik is the producer. —Bruce Wayne of the Rap Game (talk) 01:22, 19 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I don't mean that, I mean the women who's singing in the background.--Shadyaftrmathgunit (talk) 15:35, 22 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
