Failed

[edit]

I feel this article fails in noting a very important part of the episode; namely how Rush plays a demented version of himself. For example, he says that Brian is a liberal because Brian gives credit to Lois for an intelligent idea. That 'crediting a woman for anything' is anti-conservative, which of course is complete foolishness and not what Rush or most conservatives believe. This is an example of the conservative-self-mockery that should be noted in this article. Lots42 (talk)

Source it is notable? CTJF83 chat 20:26, 4 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sure there's a source out there indicating Rush doesn't really believe what his FG version says. Lots42 (talk) 02:51, 6 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
There isn't, and it is completely unnotable. Gage (talk) 06:04, 6 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
For the record, said sources do exist, I just found some. Lots42 (talk) 12:41, 6 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It is not notable. Gage (talk) 19:34, 6 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I will be reviewing this article. -- Matthew RD 19:49, 8 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Well written: See comments below.
  • Sources: Duly cited throughout, all sources seem reliable. The only problem I can see is there is no accessdate on Ref #8.
  • Broad in coverage: Pass, all sections are each similar in size.
  • Article stability: The episode is barely a week old so there is bound to be some conflict, but it doesn't seem serious enough to fail, so article passes stability.
  • Image: All three images look fine, the screenshot has the proper fair usage rationale, other two free images pass, even though Rush Limbough does seem a little blurred.

Comments

[edit]

Plot:

  • He is suddenly attacked by a street gang, and is immediately saved by Rush Limbaugh, I think the sentence sounds better if you use "but" rather than "and". Also link gang
  • Lois questions Brian's conviction, citing his past liberalism, with Brian defending his right to change his mind. I feel the last part of the sentence could do with some rewording.
  • Brian thanks Limbaugh to Brian thanks him, since Limbaugh is already mentioned earlier in the sentence.
  • Link Waterboarding, if it does refer to the torture.
  • Being bailed out by Limbaugh later that day, Brian continues to assert his conservatism, while Limbaugh attempts to convince Brian is only fighting against the establishment due to his desire to be the underdog. Replace with After being bailed out by Limbaugh later that day, Brian continues to assert his conservatism. Limbaugh attempts to convince Brian he is only fighting against the Establishment due to his desire of being the underdog.

Production:

  • and is the first episode to feature a high-definition opening credit sequence. really needs its own sentence. Also, I don't see that remark mentioned on the cited the source, though I'd be happy to be proven wrong, or the source is changed.
    • The source states, "After last week's cinematic widescreen debut, we finally got to see the new widescreen intro, filled with supporting characters from the show in place of the showgirls." Widescreen and high-definition, in this instance, are referring to the same thing, but widescreen would work in place of it in the article if there are any quarrels. Gage (talk) 21:52, 8 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Seth MacFarlane is linked twice in this section, for the purpose of WP:OVERLINK, the second link can be removed.

Cultural references:

Reception:

  • No issues with the section.

On hold

[edit]

I am placing this article on hold. I will allow seven for the issues to be fixed, mostly to do with prose stuff and having some sentenced backed up by sources. Good luck! -- Matthew RD 21:05, 8 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for addressing the concerns so quickly. Without further ado, I shall pass the article. Good job, Gage :) -- Matthew RD 23:13, 8 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

EIB Excellence in Broadcasting Network

[edit]

Do a search on 'EIB' or 'Network' on the article and here in TALK and you will find no nothing in the text nor in the references. I think there should at least be an external reference or something to the real world. A Google-search shows there is a trademark and also an award. -- Charles Edwin Shipp (talk) 20:48, 3 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
