Genius bar

[edit]

I feel like there must be something missing from cultural references. That Genius bar ritual can't have just been random surely? - filelakeshoe 21:34, 28 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I inserted what I believe the quickening scene is, which is a mashup of the two races' rituals in The Dark Crystal. I'm not sure where the other part comes from though, where the Geniuses are poking the colored circles/balls. Invario (talk) 17:35, 29 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I believe the word: "kali-fee", the genius shouts is from the Star Trek episode: Amok Time. The ritual ceremony rock placements are similar to Spock's wedding ceremony on Vulcan. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.28.11.164 (talk) 00:29, 1 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Reception

[edit]

A link to, and limited quotes from, the EW review would surely suffice? I'd also debate the review's own accuracy given how (in)famous The Human Centipede is. 188.223.67.111 (talk) 22:23, 28 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Freddy got fingered reference?

[edit]

Cartman taking of his pants before asking his mother if she wants to fuck him is similar to Jim Brody taking off his pants and asking his son, Gord Brody if he wants to fuck him.

Written / Directed?

[edit]

I remember seeing a credit slide just after crying thunderbolted Cartman which said that some woman (don't remember the name, sorry) has written and directed this instead of Trey Parker. Could someone please verify? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.88.117.150 (talk) 08:27, 29 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Credits of the episode state; Executive producer Trey Parker, Matt Stone. Executive producer Anne Gardefino, Written and Directed by Trey Parker. The Wikipedia article on South Park states that "Parker and Ston have been the show's executive producers throughout its entire history, while Anne Garefino has served as South Park's co-executive producer since the latter part of the first season" 85.77.83.70 (talk) 15:59, 29 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Can it Read?

[edit]

The scene where a reporter asks Steve Jobs if his new product can read is similar to a scene near the end of "The Royal Tenenbaums". In the movie, Bill Murray is a psychologist who is holding a press conference revealing his revelotionary work with Ben Stiller's genius child/children. A reporter asks the psychologist if the "boy can tell time?" The genius child could not. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.28.11.164 (talk) 00:22, 1 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Rituals

[edit]

The genius bar guys perform several rituals, with a mention of Kunut Kalifi from Star Trek's Amok Time and something with floating globes called "tauron ka" or some such. Identifying these allusions would be helpful. μηδείς (talk) 15:52, 16 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Shortly before Steve Jobs died

[edit]

As I recall, the episode was released shortly before the death of Steve Jobs. It was a pure coincidence at the time, but it's ironic now, so we should probably include it in the Article. The Mysterious El Willstro (talk) 18:47, 14 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Only if a reliable source makes mention of the connection. Otherwise, it doesn't belong. Whether "six months" is "shortly" before his death is subjective, anyway. Nightscream (talk) 02:37, 15 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

HumancentiPadHUMANCENTiPAD – This is what it's referred to as throughout the article, and in the majority of sources. Unreal7 (talk) 21:14, 19 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

That's irrelevant, we don't use self-imposed styling on article titles, e.g. Macy*s, skate., [ yellow tail ], Se7en, Alien3, Toys Я Us, etc. Zarcadia (talk) 20:10, 20 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

I want to make an animation based on the "fuck me" scene at the episode. I am planning that the mother will be an anthropomorphic red supergiant (because I also like astronomy), specifically looking at Antares. The <<Cartman>> will be an earth-like planet. What do you think? --Joey P. - THE OFFICIAL (talk) 06:34, 5 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
