Transcription of name

[edit]

"In some sources his name appears as Ivan Tikhon." Understatement of the year. He has been known as Ivan Tikhon for his entire career, up until this year. I will try to rephrase the above sentence. --UrbanGrill 19:56, 27 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, the IAAF uses Tsikhan. Punkmorten (talk) 09:02, 22 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

WELL HE USES TIKHON. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.183.4.84 (talk) 04:26, 6 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • "as Ivan himself pronounces and signs his name as Tikhon." it's not true at all! i live in Belarus and nobody pronounces his surname as Tikhon with "o" here, including himself of course. he may sign so, because in russian his surname is written with "o". but pronounciation differs from spelling a lot. correct, please.
