Title for Episode 1

[edit]

The official Code Geass trading cards have been released (or at least the first round/pack thereof, anyways), and one of the cards has the translation of episode 1 (stage 1) as On The Day The Demon Prince was Born. Should the fan-translated titles be changed to whatever the trading cards say in the future? See the episode 1 card -Atashi 00:42, 9 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I think it should be changed. It is official. Kurigiri 08:48, 9 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I don't see the reason to change it. Although official, this translation seems like a good example of Engrish. This article is meant for English speakers, so a coherent translation or official translation by an Anglophone company would be best. "The Day the Demon Prince was Born" looks closer to 魔神 が 生まれた 日. Shiosai 22:19, 17 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Engrish or not, it's official.

The English dub which has just premiered on Adult Swim apparently subtitles it as "The Day a New Demon was Born". That seems to be the newest official English translation. Juancarlos2004 (talk) 18:55, 28 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

C.C.'s real name

[edit]

Tricky. Ep. 11 offers two interpretations to the viewer:

  1. C.C.'s real name is plink, which is definitly non-human, hinting she may be some kind of spirit of nature, perhaps some nordic deity, ice fairy, whatever
  2. C.C.'s real name is something else, but just as we hear it or hear Lelouch saying it, at the same time a drop from a stalagtite hits the water surface and covers it.

Hmm.. as I don't see anyone uttering her name first, I bet it is plink.

And a side note: I wish Kallen was written as Karen and Lelouch as Lelouche because that would be better English and French. But if the series creators stick to those mistakes we probably have to stick to them as well.

--Marc van Woerkom 22:19, 27 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

What??? 'Plink'? o_o No way. Just try to read Lelouch's lips as he says C.C.'s name. The audio was silenced on purpose. -Atashi 02:33, 28 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

We'll see. :-) And now I remember where I last time heard a funny name, it was Splash, where the name of the mermaid was useful to break glass as well. --Marc van Woerkom 11:01, 28 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Just thought I'd point out that Kallen and Lelouch are actual names, so I find it hard to believe that they are mistakes. Not as popular maybe, but legit names. Calaschysm 03:15, 28 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, with Lelouch I am wrong it seems. Where is Kallen used as name? --Marc van Woerkom 11:01, 28 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kallen_Esperian It's an Irish name, though originally a boy's name. Calaschysm 18:06, 28 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Kallen was also how it was spelled in roman letters on a poster iirc aha, so I suppose it is canon now. Hoenstly, I would have preffered it to be Karen myself, but there you have it. Anonymous 01:57, 09 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

DANG SUNRISE!!! We've all been waiting for the final episode and you don't even give us C.C.'s Name!!!! Digman14 —Preceding undated comment was added at 20:39, 7 October 2008 (UTC).[reply]

Short Summary Guidelines

[edit]

IMHO many of the short summaries aren't really short and some give too much away of the episode's plot. Are there any Wikipedia guidelines dealing with this? What are your opinions? --Marc van Woerkom 14:10, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

WP:FICTION states "Plot summaries should be kept reasonably short, as the point of Wikipedia is to describe the works, not simply summarize them. ", so I completely agree that summaries should be kept reasonably short and simple. It also helps organize the article in a much more suitable way, in my opinion. ···巌流? · Talk to Ganryuu 16:59, 1 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The latest edits are fine, but not for this article. I suggest moving the present long descriptions into separate articles which cover a single episode each. Here we should only have short, spoiler-free summaries. Your opinions? --Marc van Woerkom 19:20, 9 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Partial Agree. For separate articles per episode, the summaries may as well be on the scope of Star Trek the Next Generation. It's possible to write up episode summaries in 3 sentences or less. Of course, some may require longer - but not many. For a model list, just look at List of Oh My Goddess episodes. KyuuA4 21:44, 26 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've been trying to shorten the summaries as much as possible. It's not a problem if they include spoilers, but I agree that many of them are too verbose. --Darkbane 21:10, 30 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Zero vs Lerouch

[edit]

We all know they refer to the same person. The summaries must be as condensed as possible. To save space, use one reference or the other, but not both in the same sentence. KyuuA4 17:53, 28 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Screenshots

[edit]
As opposed to all of the other anime episode list articles using screenshots? Moogy (talk) 12:55, 1 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I think the screenshots are just fine. How do they not fit the various episodes? Which specific policy do you find them to be in violation of? --Darkbane 15:08, 1 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I think it's been found that episode lists using screenshots are acceptable as they help to illustrate each episode. Voretus 15:11, 1 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
There's a big debate going on about it in WP:AN right now, and it looks like the majority think they shouldn't be in any episode list article. Read there for more info. JuJube 21:57, 1 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I'm still looking over the issue, but I've also just noticed that many of our images are high resolution and - more importantly - lack a fair use rationale tag and/or text. That's not good. --Darkbane 22:41, 1 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I've read most of what's been said there now. Since the discussion is still very much in progress, let's leave the images for now. I'm afraid that a removal of the images will lead to a revert war and eventually to locking the page against edits, something that won't benefit any of us.
Having said that, it's vital that all images at some point are replaced with relevant, low-resolution images with completed fair use rationale tags containing detailed arguments for the image use. I'd start working on it myself, but I'm unable to take screenshots. --Darkbane 23:00, 1 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Looks like the problem was solved in favor of not including any screenshots. --Darkbane 13:12, 3 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

episode summary on episodes that have not yet aired?

[edit]

I see summaries for several episodes that have not yet aired, how is this possible? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.108.241.160 (talk) 22:18, 13 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The summaries are from Newtype, along with the episode titles. — Trust not the Penguin (T | C) 22:27, 13 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Missing Picture Drama?

Another Opening Theme?

[edit]

A video has surfaced that I at first thought to be fan-made: an opening to Code Geass as Zetsubou Billy by "Maximum the Hormone". However, there are too many small things in the video for it to be fake, such as the SUNRISE logo towards the end of the video and the final picture that was clearly drawn by the creators themselves. Is it fake or is it really another opening theme? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.255.6.135 (talk) 03:32, 18 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It's fake. — Trust not the Penguin (T | C) 04:28, 18 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Episode 22 summary

[edit]

The summary for episode 22 makes very little sense, could anybody word it clearer? --rpman24 17:07, 14 August 2008 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.250.214.230 (talk) [reply]

I would if I could. The summary it's derived from is incredibly vague. — Trust not the Penguin (T | C) 22:46, 14 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

F.L.E.I.J.A.?

[edit]

Why is the acronym for Nina's bomb spelled like that even though the acronym within the episode summary would refer to it as FLEIA? NinjaRooster (talk) 10:15, 15 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Episode 19 summary: Suzaku

[edit]

The summary states that Suzaku had killed 35 million people. Wasn't it just over 10 million with 25 million or more casualties? ~ Hyakurei (talk) 14:11, 18 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Code Geass Music

[edit]

I was just wondering why the insert songs for Code Geass was not mentioned.Shouldn't we put the insert songs info to make it more complete?

Too trivial. It's a matter for soundtracks and such. — Trust not the Penguin (T | C) 06:46, 26 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Avoid spoilers for unrelased episodes.

[edit]

Three days grace period should be honored for synopsis, english translation of episode names should be delayed as well. (because they are quite descriptive.)

I wonder if there is a spoiler tag.Raghar (talk) 23:05, 25 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Area 11 is in chaos, and Suzaku looks for a fight in his new Lancelot Albion, no longer the gentle person he once was. Within the Sword of Akasha, the Emperor reveals the true reason for banishing Lelouch, and his intention to create a gentle world without lies. Lelouch almost reconciles with the Emperor, but changes his mind when he realizes that the world the Emperor desires has no future.

The Britannia Empire and the UFN lie on opposite extremities, and their conflict may not end. Knowing the truth, Lelouch begins to walk on the path of thorns as the new Emperor.

English language source

[edit]

The article heavily rely on Japanese sources. Is it possible to use some English language source? Thanks. Otolemur crassicaudatus (talk) 06:48, 26 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Not when they don't exist. You'll find a lot of animes rely on Japanese sources. — Trust not the Penguin (T | C) 06:57, 26 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Particularly those that aren't entirely released in English, like all of R2 and some of the first season. the_one092001 (talk) 19:05, 3 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Edit war

[edit]

Could an admin. please semi protect this page? see the history for details. Westrim (talk) 18:46, 3 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Admins please unprotect this page every sunday, it still needs to be finished. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.36.12.223 (talk) 23:01, 6 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You can't edit it, but registered editors can. It will be updated regardless of the protection. — Trust not the Penguin (T | C) 23:20, 6 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well then, can you unprotect it anyways, its annoying, i love this series and not being able to edit it, it pisses me off, i might go on a killing rampage and take over the world and force Wiki to allow me to edit it. Either that, or they unprotect it. You have 12 days to accept or decline. I suggest you chose the easier and less bloody way. XD —Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.36.12.223 (talk) 15:15, 7 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Honestly, if you want to edit Wikipedia, why don't you register and participate in the community? Pages are protected against unwarranted, incorrect edits by non-registered and newly registered users. This is done to prevent spam, misinformation, and attacks. ElliottB (talk) 20:56, 7 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Are you saying me, a person who is obsessed with the show is wrong about a show that is my whole life? Because there will be consequences if you say yes.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.36.12.223 (talk) 22:16, 7 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please, watch your tone and language. I've removed your curse word. I am simply saying that you should register up if you want to edit semi-protected pages and read Wikipedia's guidelines. ElliottB (talk) 23:31, 7 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Considering the section the edit war centered on is now confirmed to be true (by the reappearance of Nunnally), I think it can be removed now. However IP, you need to not take this matter so personally, or so angrily. Westrim (talk) 00:51, 8 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

What you said earlier contradicts that, you said it protects from unregistered and newly registered, so if I were to register then I wouldn't be able to right away, besides, I'm already registered, but it won't accept my password, I'm 1000% certain its right. One more thing, its my language I use it however I see fit, if you don't approve of it change it to something more appropriate, or ignore it, don't delete it, or I will just replace it. Digman14 (Talk)

If you re-read my post, you'll see "Pages are protected against unwarranted, incorrect edits by non-registered and newly registered users." I do not mean your edits are incorrect, but that this is why the system is the way it is. Also, please read the policies and guidelines for Wikipedia (Such as Wikipedia:Civility, Wikipedia:Edit_war, and Wikipedia:No_personal_attacks) . Also, as a new registered user, just wait until you have access to different editing roles. Additionally please sign your posts in (~~~~) talk pages. (I added yours based on Page History) I consider this discussion closed. Elliott B (T | C) 02:59, 10 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I think I'll just go with the first method, taking over the world in all and using oppression to force wiki into allowing unregistered users to edit pages. Also I agree with Westrim; with Nunnally being confirmed alive, the protection should be removed. Besides, it was Westrim that requested the Semi-Protect, so if he think it should be gone, I do too. No need for a protection. Digman14 (Talk) —Preceding undated comment was added at 19:00, 10 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

All right, I think I removed the block. I may have just deleted the notification that it was there, though. Westrim (talk) 23:53, 10 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Code Geass Cards

Where do these Code Geass cards come from? Are there any scans? - plau (talk) 11:12, 7 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hiatus?

[edit]

Is it just me, or did Adult Swim put this show on hiatus? I sat down to watch it the other night and: nothing (but crap). Anyone else notice? Sirius85 (talk) 01:31, 16 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It was actually on at 5 AM. Yes, we know. Westrim (talk) 01:51, 16 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Nightmare of Nunnally Chapters

[edit]

Should we include a manga chapter of Nightmare of Nunnally in this?SilentmanX (talk) 14:47, 20 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

What do you mean? In what and where? Westrim (talk) 19:08, 20 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The answer is no. This is episodes, not chapters. — Trust not the Penguin (T | C) 22:31, 20 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to, you could always make a page that contains the Manga chapters. - Digman14

Charles leaving his Code

[edit]

I'm sure that's just pure speculation. Shouldn't it be changed back to what it originally was? And isn't the summary for episode 25 a bit too long? - plau (talk) 00:12, 29 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Air dates

[edit]

According to this page and adultswim.com, Code Geass season 2 episode 1 is supposed to Air tonight (actually tomorrow morning), November 1st (or 2nd, technically) at 3:00 in the morning for Mountain Standard Time. Today the time moved back to Standard Time, but I live in Arizona, which doesn't change it's time for DST and flips back and forth between Pacific and Mountain Times.
I'm getting a little off topic, but I've checked my program guide on the satellite network I'm with and it says that Code Geass is NOT airing tonight AT ALL. I'm wondering if this is a scheduling error made by my satellite provider or attributed to the fact that Arizona is "weird" and doesn't move time back and forth so Adult Swim is skipping an hour of programming (most inconveniently Code Geass's block) to make up for the time difference. The reason why I'm wondering and asking you guys is because I usually record the show on my VCR (yes, I'm retro) so I don't have to stay up that late.
Anyone know what's up? --71.38.43.189 (talk) 02:18, 2 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Code Geass definitely aired yesterday morning, and I record it on my DVR so I don't have to stay up so late either. =) BTW, did it air last week? My DVR didn't record either Code Geass or Moribito (which AS restarted yesterday for some reason) (actually, strike that, there's only 25 episodes in Season 1 (ignoring specials), so I didn't miss anything after all ^_^ ). —Dinoguy1000 19:02, 10 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

U.S. Air Dates

[edit]

I really wish people would stop fucking around with the dates for new episode airings. I'm tired of getting excited and then feeling disappointment.

Blame Adult Swim. They really like to screw around with their schedule, and since they basically gave up on anime after people started wanting more "gold" like Tim and Eric or Xavier... ダイノガイ?!」(Dinoguy1000) 18:07, 12 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Somebody needs to go back and change the US airdates back to their original first run. There is no need to change them to the new run just because AS decided to rewind back to the beginning of the season. Andyross (talk) 15:43, 29 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Fixed. ダイノガイ?!」(Dinoguy1000) 20:08, 30 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

"Sky of Damocles"

[edit]

At the beginning of "Sky of Damocles", the episode title sequence called it "Grip of Damocles". Should it be changed? 71.120.145.92 (talk) 17:51, 31 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Missing Audio Dramas for R2

[edit]

There were suppose to be an audio drama episode for the season 2 series. I know because I've heard one in Youtube, so why has it been not added? SilentmanX (talk) 00:20, 11 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Revamping articles 2013

[edit]

I'm going to turn Code Geass episodes into a directory link and split the seasons and OVA off. So this episode list will list the sublist for Lelouch of the Rebellion (My prototype here), R2, then Akito. DragonZero (Talk · Contribs) 02:01, 21 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Structure Organization discussion

[edit]

I sent out a third opinion request. Gohan13 argues the Individual OVA should come before the Akito series due to the release date. I argue notability/significance should come first. Gohan's example would be similar to shoving the anthology media releases of Rozen Maiden into the manga section where the main works and its derivatives belong.

Gohan13 also argues the DVD compilation should be added to the list. I say it should be treated as a volume release and remain in their respective articles. Whatever input will be binding for the article. Thanks. DragonZero (Talk · Contribs) 01:32, 24 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

3O Response: declined I had to remove this from the list because of lack of thorough discussion. Both sides need to present the views properly so that 3O can be given. Feel free to add this later. Consider this also as a warning against edit-warring, both of you have reverted three times and have almost past the WP:3RR rule, I hope I don't have to report any one of you. Ugog Nizdast (talk) 08:27, 24 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I was hoping to skip a few steps to speed up the process, which I've done before, because this discussion is completely predictable. Both sides don't agree, never will agree, and will require outside intervention at some point. DragonZero (Talk · Contribs) 23:17, 24 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Well this can't be posted in any form of dispute resolution until discussion takes place here. The other editor seems to be new so consider warning him about edit warring or 3RR, and invite him here (WP:DISCFAIL is a good essay regarding this). Or why don't try to get some other interested editor (maybe from WikiProject Anime) to take part here? Sincerely, Ugog Nizdast (talk) 12:52, 25 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
