Untitled[edit]

I think Mon Mothma should be pulled out into a seperate article. While a minor character in the movies she did play a much larger role in the Expanded Universe. --Pboyd04 05:19, 18 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, Mon Mothma has enough information to deserve her own page.Atinoda 19:19, 30 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Porkins, Jek[edit]

I thought Porkins died while reaching for a food item in his X-Wing? Reverend Raven 02:28, 17 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Watch Episode 4 again and you'll understand. By the way, did you like my "Bacon was sizzled" joke? 70.58.211.220

Rogue Squadron Characters[edit]

I am considering adding some characters that primarily come from the Rogue Squadron series of novels. Do you think they should be added here, on the SW characters page, or perhaps on a new page devoted to Rogue Squadron characters? --Mipadi 15:29, 25 Jun 2005 (UTC)

While all members of Rogue Squadron are obviously also members of the Alliance, I also think they could get their own page. It depends. Are all the Rogue Squadron members currently up the only ones? If so, they should stay here.Atinoda 19:19, 30 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Antilles, Raymus[edit]

The image in this article is his son Colton Antilles rather than Raymus Antilles I believe. I'm going to remove it if you object, revert it. The Greased-Up Deaf Guy 09:00, 13 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wrong picture?[edit]

Are you sure the picture of Raymus antilles is wrong. Isn't the Captain Antilles that was strangled by Darth Vader in Episode IV:A New Hope the same Captain Antilles that was in Episode III: revenge of The Sith.

Nope two different people, in IV it is Colton who is the son of Raymus from III. I am reasonably sure of this, I may be wrong but if you can find anything that shows i'm wrong i'll eat my lightsabre. The Greased-Up Deaf Guy 16:38, 13 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Garven Dreis or Garvin "Dave" Dreis[edit]

He is listed as Garvin "Dave" Dreis on the Rogue Squadron page. Which is correct? --Funkmaster 801 06:18, 23 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

In the Dreis, Garven paragraph, it says "(...)Wedge Antilles, who renamed the squadron Red Squadron(...)". Although some members of Rogue squadron are part of a red squadron in a novel (Starfighter of adumar, by Aaron Allston, X wing series), the squadron as a whole is still named "Rogue Squadron". I think this is consistent with the fact that it is the most publicized X-wing unit in the expanded universe. Even at the end of the thrawn campaign, (much time after Wedge Antilled takes command), it is still named Rogue Squadron (novel : Isard's Revenge, by Michael Stackpole). What do you think? :) -- sqliqbild (totally new on wiki :) )

Moving page[edit]

Move to List of minor Star Wars Rebel characters for consistency--PatCheng 04:24, 4 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Raymus and Colton[edit]

I already know someone will revert, but I merged Colton and Raymus because it has been revealed by Leland Chee, keeper of the Star Wars Canon Holocron, that they are one character.

Note to anyone intending on splitting off a section[edit]

This page has been processed by N-Bot, which, for browsing convenience, changes links to redirects to lists to links to the relevant list sections: e.g. [[Ooryl Qrygg]] is changed to [[List of minor Star Wars Rebel characters#Qrygg, Ooryl|Ooryl Qrygg]].

As a result, anyone who intends to split a section out of this page should be aware that, as of 14 June 2006, the following sections were linked to from the following pages:

Nien Nunb[edit]

This entry is filled with POV, and completely unencycopedic writing. I saw where the author says in the edit summary that the "Star Wars Guide to Characters" book was the source, and it is quite possibly a copyright violation. It's okay if the book was just used as a source, but the entry reads like a complete copyright violation. I didn't want to just simply revert the entry, because there's surely some good information in there. It just needs a complete rewrite, in my opinion. Wavy G 18:54, 3 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

So that make two things. You think it needs a rewrite, and I think it needs a split. I'll add both cleanup templates. — SheeEttin {T/C} 15:50, 19 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, split. This is hardly a 'minor' character in the Star Wars Universe, and secondly, <Tiny Elvis> this entry is HUGE! Wavy G 17:19, 27 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, I actually checked the book that the author cites as a source, and it is not exactly a copyvio, but it's pretty much the same. The author basically rewrote the essay and changed some of the wording so it isn't an exact copy. I would remove the rewrite tag, and just take out the POV wording (like "...is a brilliant pilot," etc.). Wavy G 03:34, 2 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I agree both that this article need substantial cleanup (if not a total re-write) by somebody more versed in the greater Star Wars canon than I, and that it should be Split into its own article. On a side-note, I recall once hearing that the language Nien Nunb speaks is actually a real language native to Kenya or Tanzania. Anyone know anything about this? --Cjs56 19:06, 18 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Regardless of splitting, cleaning up, un-copy-vioing, etc, it might be worth mentioning in the 'trivia' that Nunb (or a conjured simulacrum of him) was a featured character in a Venture Bros. episode, Showdown at Cremation Creek (Part I).

Moving bios[edit]

It an attempt to make this list not so large and "random", I am working on moving the bios to more relevant articles. I have moved a few to Rogue Squadron. Gavin Darklighter, however, is no longer listed at Rogue Squadron, but I am working on moving his bio (along with a few others from some random pages) to a characters section in Star Wars: X-wing (series). – Mipadi 14:32, 1 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Jek porkins.jpg[edit]

Image:Jek porkins.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 07:24, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Merger suggestion[edit]

Following a discussion aabout too many articles for minor characters it has been suggested that the individual character articles be merged. I have stubbed-out this page so that there is a merge target. The individual character articles don't assert any real world notability and are written in a fanish style. I support merging. Lando[edit]

Lando is a major character and should not be merged into a minor characters list. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.197.177.207 (talk) 22:22, 24 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image copyright problem with Image:John Hollis.jpg[edit]

The image Image:John Hollis.jpg is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
  • That this article is linked to from the image description page.

Revamp[edit]

I'm working on amalgamating this and all the other god-awful lists at Category:Lists_of_Star_Wars_characters to remove all the ORish and arbitrary topics (i.e. what makes a character a "villain"? what if he/she later is "good"?) and repetition (e.g. Leia shows up on several of them). Once I've squished them together, they can be broken up just alphabetically like the slightly-less-crappy Star Trek character lists. I've copy-and-pasted these lists as of ~11:30EST 3 Oct -- if you make any additions to this list, I'll try to be sure to maintain them in the reworked version, but please be mindful that something might accidentally be overlooked. Thanks! --EEMIV (talk) 15:40, 3 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Redirect[edit]

I plan on Monday to replace the current content of List of Star Wars characters with the material at User:EEMIV/StarWarsCharacters, and then to redirect this page to that updated list. Much of the content on this page will go away -- for the better. Wikipedia is an indiscriminate collection of information, even on its list pages, and many of the entries were are truly insignificant characters. If you take exception to this plan, please say so here. --EEMIV (talk) 11:20, 9 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
