Does anyone know why it is called the M69 despite being several hundred miles away from the real A69 from Carlisle to Newcastle? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.1.53.56 (talk) 22:54, 23 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I would imagine it's because it needs an M6x number as it runs to the clockwise side of the M6.Patrick lovell (talk) 17:32, 13 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
