Would anyone be opposed to removing the accusation that Paul tortured a murdered a child?

Where has Paul stated that Martha My Dear is not about his dog? I have read interviews in which he states the opposite:

PAUL 1968: "You see, I just start singing some words with a tune, you know what I mean. Mainly I'm just doing a tune and then some words come into my head, you know. And these happened to be 'Martha My Dear, though I spend my days in conversation.' So you can read anything you like into it, but really it's just a song. It's me singing to my dog."

PAUL circa-1994: "When I taught myself piano I liked to see how far I could go, and this (song) started off as a piece you'd learn as a piano lesson. It's quite hard for me to play, It's a two-handed thing, like a little set piece. Then when I was blocking out words-- you just mouth out sounds and some things come-- I found the words 'Martha my dear.' So I made up another fantasy song... I mean, I'm not really speaking to Martha, it's a communication of some sort or affection, but in a slightly abstract way-- 'You silly girl, look what you've done...' Whereas it would appear to anybody else to be a song to a girl called Martha, it's actually a dog, and our relationship was platonic, believe me."

Delete entry suggesting Paul imprisoned and murdered a girl

[edit]

We need to delete the sentence that suggests Paul imprisoned and murdered a girl. Is this type of entry considered vandalism? The statement is clearly wrong.

oh, I deleted the basement statement, I'm pretty sure you don't even have to ask that such thing should be deleted. pd: the song rocks ;)

Inspiration

[edit]

I've seen the Paul quote in one of the bios where he says the song was inspired by the dog, so that could be cited, and I may add it back in when I locate the quote. For the uncited Jane Asher speculation that is there now, where's the citation? Which reliable source said that it was about her? John Cardinal 07:00, 21 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm removing the first sentences of the "Origins" section. There have been objections to its statements on the Talk page through the years. There is no reference for the statement about his "muse". The article that is cited states that he wrote it as an exercise for himself to learn to play the piano, that the words came later, and that the idea of the dog came to him as he was fleshing it out - NOT that he got Martha later (she was on the set of the "Strawberry Fields" video in 1967, so...not later.) Many statements that are just provably incorrect.--Daveler16 (talk) 16:05, 11 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:The White Album.jpg

[edit]

Image:The White Album.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Brass and strings arrangement

[edit]

Credited to Paul and George Martin. Did they collaborate? Tbh289 (talk) 14:47, 1 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Tbh289: Thanks for mentioning this. That's not something McCartney would typically do. None of the Personnel section is sourced, so for the time being I placed a "citation needed" tag for McCartney. Sundayclose (talk) 15:13, 1 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
