Do we really need, say, Roberto Carlos da Silva here? He is almost universally known as "Roberto Carlos" - that would be like putting Emma Watson at a disambiguation page for Charlotte. – ugen64 03:42, 20 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Why was Silva compass removed from this list? Silva is the name known by everyone.. before I created the article I never knew it was Silva compass, as on all their equipment is named 'Silva'. It needs to be on this page. --Dom0803 19:23, 17 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
What about Aravinda de Silva, the Sri Lankan cricketer? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Adi87tya (talkcontribs)

What about me, Sergio Silva, born August 8, 1968? Wait a minute...I'm not world-famous...yet.

The Portuguese language article from which this English translation is derived says it is possible the Silva Surname is the most common in Portugal, Brazil and elsewhere as noted. It is certainly widespread in those places, but without a better source or a more credible opinion, this additional word should be inserted in the interest of accuracy. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Grandcross (talkcontribs) 01:22, 22 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Silva in Latin means "Forest". —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.139.92.109 (talk) 22:54, 20 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

"Notorious People"

[edit]

Nice try. I'm sorry you don't think Anderson Silva is legitimate, but he certainly isn't "Notorious." I deleted that and placed him in athletics. Does that hurt your feelings? Jackbox1971 (talk) 05:42, 28 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
