Move?

[edit]

Shoudn't this be moved to the Wallis and Futuna regional football team since its a region and not a country?--Cokepepsi 00:31, 26 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There could (should) be something about them not playing a match since 1995 (in 14 years)! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.141.125.19 (talk) 07:36, 14 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No match since 1995 and biggest defeat

[edit]

As someone already said, there should be something about their non-activity. And, other thing, infobox lists a 0-13 to Tahiti as their biggest defeat. However, in Solomon Islands national football team there is a 0-17 loss to Solomon Islands. 82.141.66.217 (talk) 21:58, 3 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The 0–17 loss to the Solomon Islands is supported by RSSSF, and I have changed it in the infobox. Regarding the team's inactivity, I couldn't find a reliable source which explicitly documented that they have not played in 15 years. Are any available online? Thanks, -- Black Falcon (talk) 21:13, 19 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
There isn't an online source supporting this. However, it is a fact. Their only games have been in the South Pacific Games, and they have not entered this tournament since 1995. The 17-0 loss is no longer supported by RSSSF. It is only mentioned in parentheses as an alternative score (5-0 is given as the main score). It seems incredible that a score could be written as "5-0 or 17-0", but that is the situation. I've spoken with RSSSF and others involved with the page, and indeed there are 2 separate sources giving wildly different scores. Clearly, the 5-0 source appears more credible, and this is why RSSSF have put the 17-0 score in parentheses. With regard to the relative strengths of the teams at that time, the 5-0 score seems eminently more plausible. http://rsssf.com/tabless/southpac91.html Mcruic (talk) 03:21, 11 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
