The Dictionary of National Biography refers to him as "William fitz Osbert", which would help avoid confusion with the other William fitz Osbern, the Earl of Hereford. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.151.97.249 (talk) 09:13, 10 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
