Requested move.

[edit]
The following discussion is an archived discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: pages moved. I have not however disambiguated Changmin as proposed, as there seemed no need to. Andrewa (talk) 01:01, 2 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

– I'm requesting all articles of the members of TVXQ to be renamed in accordance to WP:COMMONNAME. Although the current article names are their stage names, they are more commonly referred to by their real names by both Korean and English media. Additionally, these articles should use these specific forms of Romanization according to WP:NC-KO#Given name, which dictates that Koreans variously spell two-syllable given names as a joined word or separated by a hyphen or a space, with the second syllable occasionally capitalized. If there is no personal preference, and no established English spelling, hyphenate the syllables, with only the first syllable capitalized. I'd argue that the proposed renames are the established, if not the most accepted, form of spelling. Although not the greatest example, one can compare Google results for different forms of Romanization. For example, Jaejoong (8,350,000 results), Jae Joong (2,230,000), Jaejung (332,000) and Jae Jung (417,000). As far as I'm aware, Changmin is the only name where at least one individual that shares this name exist on this Wikipedia (Son Chang Min), so a disambiguation page would seem to be in order for this case. — ξxplicit 21:37, 13 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Chosun Ilbo says "U-Know Yunho" and "Max Changmin." JoongAng says "U-Know Yunho", while Reuters says "U-know Yunho". I doubt if their names are different in Spanish, so we can use these versions from RPP Noticias: Hero Jaejoong, Micky Yoochun, Xiah Junsu, Max Changmin, and U-Know Yunho. I should add that "U-Know Yunho" is the way the name is given in the sources used by the article itself. Kauffner (talk) 14:02, 14 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
True, names like U-Know Yunho and Hero Jaejoong are further alternative names they're called. Interestingly enough, The Chosun Ilbo only uses Junsu, Jaejoong and Yoochun in this article, while the Manilla Bulletin only uses Jaejoong and Yoochun as well here, but uses the full Xiah Junsu. The Hankyoreh also refers to the current active TVXQ members as Yunho and Changmin. There's a definite lack of consistency... but I think there's at least agreement that the current titles of the articles don't match WP:COMMONNAME. — ξxplicit 20:56, 17 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

File:KYHD - Official Photobook.jpg Nominated for speedy Deletion

[edit]
An image used in this article, File:KYHD - Official Photobook.jpg, has been nominated for speedy deletion at Wikimedia Commons for the following reason: Copyright violations
What should I do?

Don't panic; deletions can take a little longer at Commons than they do on Wikipedia. This gives you an opportunity to contest the deletion (although please review Commons guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to upload it to Wikipedia (Commons does not allow fair use)
  • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale then it cannot be uploaded or used.
  • If the image has already been deleted you may want to try Commons Undeletion Request

To take part in any discussion, or to review a more detailed deletion rationale please visit the relevant image page (File:KYHD - Official Photobook.jpg)
