Citations and sources are needed

[edit]

Please be sure that all additions to the Denver Broncos staff template are verifiable. Any new items added to or changed in this template should have inline citations for each claim made. As a courtesy to editors who may have added claims previously, before Wikipedia citation policy is what it is today, some of the existing unsourced claims have been tagged {{citation needed}} to allow some time for sources to be added. My requests for citations on unsourced claims have been removed. Since I won't get in a revert war, I will hope that the editor comes here to discuss, and I have invited them to do so via their Talk page.
There is absolutely no verifiable support for any of the redlinked claims that I requested a source for via a {{citation needed}} tag. Does any editor have a rationale to suggest that the the Wikipedia core policy on verifiability does not apply to assertions made in templates? N2e (talk) 06:43, 4 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, I have added a link to the "Staff Directory" from the Broncos' website, which should comply with WP:V. Eagles 24/7 (C) 06:55, 4 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Eagles247. That provides the needed source to comply with [{WP:V]]
I have added a bit of discussion on clarity to the typical Wikipedia reader that this is a Reference, and on the requisite completeness of a citation per WP:REF, but I've done it over at Template talk:Kansas City Chiefs staff. Probably best to refine the look and completeness on a single page for a few days, before endeavoring to get these sports templates cited across the NFL. Cheers.
