The tenth European Parliament was elected during the 2024 elections and is slated to remain in session until the forthcoming 2029 elections.[1]

[edit]European Council proposed on 27 June 2024 Ursula von der Leyen as a candidate for a second term as President of the European Commission.[7] European Parliament's secret vote took place on 18 July 2024.[8]
