Larena / Salve Clan Bais City

The decades following the Spanish colonization was characterized by massive movements in the archipelago. The saga of the Larena family of Bais City, Negros Oriental began in the 1800's.

When the Spaniards touched in the island of Negroes and looking for a perfect plains to be able to introduce crop from Latin America. A military officer by the name of Don Augustin Sandes of Spanish Mexican descent was born in Malaga, southern Spain in 1795, but rose and grew up in Morales, central Mexico. As a young man in his later 30's he served as a soldier in honor of the Royal Family of Spain. Don Agustin de Sandes was in Dumaguete together with the Spanish troops. He planted "Arunting" on the banks of the Banica River. He saw the "Nipay" fruits and asked his companions where this fruit came from (Perez J.V.) biography of Demetrio Larena. He started to full in love with the daughter Nerzominia with the charming face, the daughter if watch  Merchant Santiago Larena and Rita Catantan Tuting could not marry her us he was already married to Spanish woman in Barcelona Spain. So,the offspring were all using the surname "Larena" they were Militon Auriolo who became the first town of Dumaguete and Provincial board member during the American Regine Mariano prominent citizen and businesswoman of Dumaguete and Bais,later on married to Aurora Teves Pastor Angelina a woman civic leader who lived in (now Sra.Acion) San Jose all her life, Demitrio Larena who was first civil Governor of the Province and co-founder of Siliman University and Augustin Vicente Jr. the youngest a Prominent businessman of Bais,Dumaguete and Siquijor (Perez J.V.
