Georg Fuchs (1868-1949) was a German theatre director and author of influential works of theatrical theory. In 1908 he founded the Munich Artists' Theatre where he experimented with a relief stage and non-illusionistic staging methods. Jocza Savits' experiments at the Munich Court Theatre with staging Shakespeare influenced Fuchs.

Pains of Youth (German: Krankheit der Jugend)) is a play by the Austrian dramatist Ferdinand Bruckner. It premièred at the Hamburg Kammerspiele on 17 October 1926, in a production directed by M. Horwitz.

Theatrokratia, or theatocracy, is a term invented by the Greek philosopher Plato to describe the dictatorship by the mass of ordinary Athenian citizens under its democratic political organisation, which he imagines as an audience at the theatre taking pleasure in the spectacle.[1] He describes the idea in his Laws (701b).[2]

Traugott Müller

Traugott Müller (28 December 1895 - 29 February 1944) was a German stage designer best known for his work with the epic theatre director Erwin Piscator. He also directed the film Friedemann Bach (1941).
