Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia!

Someone using this IP address, at 70.66.93.145, has made edits to Acinonyx pardinensis‎‎ that do not conform to our policies and guidelines and therefore have been reverted. For more information on this, see Wikipedia's policies on vandalism and limits on acceptable additions. If you did not do this, you may wish to consider getting a username to avoid confusion with other editors. If you'd like to experiment with the syntax, please do so in the sandbox rather than in articles.

You don't have to log in to read or edit pages on Wikipedia, but creating an account is quick, free, requires no personal information, and has many benefits. Without a username, your IP address is used to identify you.

Some good links for newcomers are:

Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and a timestamp. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask the Help Desk, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions.

Again, welcome! UtherSRG (talk) 13:54, 30 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in Appalachia, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Don't overlink per WP:OLINK BilCat (talk) 09:22, 14 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello - I'm afraid I had to revert your additions of sources to the article Brainstorming because they are not in line with policy on reliable sources. The first was a book derived from Wikipedia itself. As such, it's not a reliable source because Wikipedia, being a dynamic, ever-changing source that anyone can edit, is considered not reliable for Wikipedia. Ironic, but necessary. The other addition was a personal blog which obviously doesn't have editorial supervision. All the best, OsFish (talk) 11:03, 7 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

National varieties of English

[edit]

Information icon Hello. In a recent edit, you changed one or more words or styles from one national variety of English to another. Because Wikipedia has readers from all over the world, our policy is to respect national varieties of English in Wikipedia articles.

For a subject exclusively related to the United Kingdom (for example, a famous British person), use British English. For something related to the United States in the same way, use American English. For something related to another English-speaking country, such as Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, India, or Pakistan use the variety of English used there. For an international topic, use the form of English that the original author of the article used.

In view of that, please don't change articles from one version of English to another, even if you don't normally use the version in which the article is written. Respect other people's versions of English. They, in turn, should respect yours. Other general guidelines on how Wikipedia articles are written can be found in the Manual of Style. If you have any questions about this, you can ask me on my talk page or visit the help desk. Thank you. Acroterion (talk) 01:23, 10 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
