Notice

The article Karbo CF has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

This article is supposed to be about Karbo CF, a team that disappeared in 1980 when it became Deportivo Women which has it's own article. None of the information in this article is related to Karbo CF. All the information is about the Deportivo Women. The shield is the only information about Karbo CF (after being absorbed by Deportivo the team started using his shield and equipment). The article contains false information such as that the name of Karbo Deportivo was due to sponsorship.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

I understand that you have separated both articles due to a lack of knowledge. Deportivo Femenino has had three different names throughout its history (Karbo Deportivo de La Coruña, Deportivo de La Coruña Femenino and Deportivo ABANCA) but has always been Deportivo Women, an integral part of Deportivo and has always carried the shield with the letters "R.C. Deportivo de La Coruña". This is not the case, for example, of the Club Femení Barcelona, which was not integrated into the structure of the club and despite this, it does not appear as a separate article and FC Barcelona Femení is considered the winner of the 1994 Copa de la Reina. Karbo Deportivo was a different team only in the way that the Superdepor was a different team, it refers to a generation of players but they were Deportivo. --Stoni (talk) 01:00, 23 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi i have a question. In the French version of the South Ossetia national football team, there was a renaming of the article, but the problem is that the first version which had 2512 views and the second 664 views, how is it the views are not merged, the article is the same, they just changed the uppercase Ossetian O . Shouldn't the view counts have been 3176 instead? Because it There was no creation of a new article, In the end this article loses sight. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A01:E34:EE0E:ABD0:E463:1F69:2AD1:B605 (talk) 10:00, 3 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Chelsea striker Bethany England scoring the winning goal in the team's 2-1 win against Arsenal at the 2019–20 FA Women's League Cup, February 29, 2020.

Hello WOSO editors!

What a year to be alive. As usual (but perhaps even moreso since there have been unexpected quarantines), there has been a lot of activity on player, team, league and tournament-related Wikipedia articles with all of the worldwide coverage of women's football / soccer. Great work!

Fall Focus: FA WSL articles

You may have noticed lots of great things going on for the top English league this year: the FA WSL. More (international!) broadcasts, top international player signings, improved media coverage, and increased viewership. Let's keep the momentum brewing, shall we?

Here's a sampling of articles that could use creation, expansion or updating. What will you commit to working on?

Historical Topics
Managers
Teams
Players
Other

See also Wikipedia:WikiProject Football/Women's football task force/Initiatives/FA WSL to collaborate and organize with other editors.

Every little bit helps! Thanks for your contributions!

Did you know...

WP:GNG takes precedence over WP:NFOOTY (which only includes the players in two currently active women's leagues)? Often times there is enough media coverage that meets WP:GNG or other notability guidelines. For more information, see WP:WOSO#Notability and be sure to tag the new article talk page with: {{WP Women's sport|footy=yes}}

Current and upcoming seasons for top-division leagues

Have some new articles in mind or see some that need improvement? Add them to the Open Tasks.

Was an article you worked on nominated for deletion? See:

Want some tips, assistance, or resources from other WOSO editors?
Leave a message on the task force talk page.

Thank you for your continued contributions to articles related to women's football / soccer (WOSO)!

CONIFA

[edit]

Hello, could we on the ConIFA competition articles shared the logos for fair use of Wikipedia in all languages. I take an example the logo of the 2014 CONIFA Football World Cup in English must be shared with the version Portuguese, French, Italian, ect ...; Ditto for the other editions. It does not currently make sense that we cannot improve all articles in other languages. Cordially. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Durante Inferno (talkcontribs) 20:53, 9 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I would like to keep all of his new "commons" [[1]] files that I have downloaded. The work is mine, photographed and retouched to avoid it looking like other logos. Alternatively, the CONIFA logos in English can also be put on articles in other languages. Notice

The file File:CD Tacón crest.png has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-free former logo currently being used in Real Madrid Femenino#2014–2019: Club Deportivo TACÓN in a manner which doesn't not comply with WP:NFCC#8 (see WP:NFC#CS for more details). The non-free use rationale for this file states it's purpose is "to serve as the primary means of visual identification at the top of the article dedicated to the entity in question", but that's not how the file is currently being used; moreover, the article where the file is listed as being used is CD Tacón, but that redirects to the "Real Madrid Femenino" article. This appears to be due to a page move back in July 2020 and it appears that the image was then moved to its current location as a result of the move. Whomever did that not only failed to update the file's non-free use rationale accordingly, but also failed to properly assess the new way the file is being used. A non-free logo such as this is probably WP:NFCC compliant when it was used for primary identification purposes like it was being used here, but former logos generally are required to have a much stronger justification for non-free use (e.g. the logo itself is expected to be the subject of sourced critical commentary) as explained in WP:NFC#cite_note-4. In other words, simply moving the former logo to another section in the article and assuming that the same justification for non-free use applies is not correct. If someone can find any critical commentary about this logo given in reliable sources that goes beyond simply stating that the team changed ownership or was officially rebranded and adds that to the relevant section where the logo can be found, then perhaps this type of non-free use can be justified. Otherwise, it doesn't really comply with relevant policy given the way it's currently being used

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. -- Marchjuly (talk) 00:42, 2 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2023 Elections voter message

[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:41, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

2024 ConIFA Football World Cup

[edit]

The 2024 ConIFA Football World Cup will not take place in Iraqi Kurdistan. This region of the world is far too risky, between the conflict in the Near East/Middle East and the situation between Kurdistan and Turkey, as well as other security risks. The competition will not be canceled and will not be postponed, another country will be chosen to organize this competition. 2A01:E0A:1D9:1B70:A942:728B:A46:13B4 (talk) 01:01, 20 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
