List of Lakes in India

[edit]

Hi! Devesh, Thanks for putting the lakes statewise and for also adding photos from the wikicommons. Please note that as per naming conventions the word lake should start with capital "L" as Lakes. I have done all the corrections in this regard. Please look at my artcile on Lonar Lake and may like to write in the discussions page for retaining it as an independent article and not merge it with Lonar Crater.--Nvvchar (talk) 06:49, 8 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Devesh, I also appreciate your work. Keep it up.Good wishesShyamsunder 21:54, 02 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Devesh

Nice article indeed.

I came across the data in the reference used by you, which says out of 1,619,031 persons migrating in to the state 1,394,325 are female. Correct me if I am wrong? This is so unusual. May be we can do some more research and include more details about it, the reason why it is so.. It will give new prospective to the topic.

I would also suggest you to improve the demographics section of the article Bihar.

You can discuss it at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Bihar#Demographics_of_Bihar, so that others can also participate. Manoj nav (talk) 06:08, 18 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Reason for flooding, in the article Floods in Bihar, could be expended along following points -

Reason for increase in the magnitude of flooding

  • Deforestation in the catchment area.
  • Embankments
  • Farrakha Dam (Blocking of the natural drainage system)
  • Heavy siltation

I would be happy to improve the section, if you agree.

Manoj nav (talk) 10:59, 1 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Devesh

Don't worry about the tags. Try to give as much as inline citations as possible. I shall try to put references, wherever I am able to find. We shall do it slowly.

Please feel free to improve the article Bihar. It looks a bit lengthy. It would be nice to have the article structurally similar to the featured articles - Kerala, Karnataka, West Bengal. But we shouldn't take that as a rule. Manoj nav (talk) 06:28, 4 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Patna Half Marathon requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a club, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion," which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Ipatrol (talk) 14:59, 1 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article Patna Half Marathon has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable (because not yet run) race. Probably promotional, but not enough there to be sure.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. WikiProject India Tag & Assess 2012 Contest

[edit]

Hello friends, we are a number of editors from WikiProject India have got together to assess the many thousands of articles under the stewardship of the project, and we'd love to have you, a fellow member, join us. These articles require assessment, that is, the addition of a WikiProject template to the talk page of an article, assessing it for quality and importance and adding a few extra parameters to it.

As of March 11, 2012, 07:00 UTC, WikiProject India has 95,998 articles under its stewardship. Of these 13,980 articles are completely unassessed (both for class and importance) and another 42,415 articles are unassessed for importance only. Accordingly, a Tag & Assess 2012 drive-cum-contest has begun from March 01, 2012 to last till May 31, 2012.

If you are new to assessment, you can learn the minimum about how to evaluate from Part One of the Assessment Guide. Part Two of the Guide will help you learn to employ the full functionality of the talk page template, should you choose to do so.

You can sign up on the Tag & Assess page. There are a number of awards to be given in recognition of your efforts. Come & join us to take part in this exciting new venture. You'll learn more about India in this way.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Krishna Janmasthan Temple Complex, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Shahi Eidgah. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

ArbCom 2021 Elections voter message

[edit]
Hello! Voting in the 2021 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 6 December 2021. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2021 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:15, 23 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

ARBIPA sanctions alert

[edit]

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

[edit]

Blue warning icon Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. You appear to be repeatedly reverting or undoing other editors' contributions at Gyanvapi Mosque. Although this may seem necessary to protect your preferred version of a page, on Wikipedia this is known as "edit warring" and is usually seen as obstructing the normal editing process, as it often creates animosity between editors. Instead of reverting, please discuss the situation with the editor(s) involved and try to reach a consensus on the talk page.

If editors continue to revert to their preferred version they are likely to lose their editing privileges on that page. This isn't done to punish an editor, but to prevent the disruption caused by edit warring. In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount, and violating the three-revert rule is very likely to result in loss of your editing privileges. Thank you. Hello, Devesh.bhatta,

First, please review Wikipedia:Proposed deletion. You put a PROD tag on Conversion of non-Hindu places of worship into temples with a date so that it looked like it expired days ago even though you just put on the tag today. This is disruptive so I had to remove the tag. Please use Twinkle or put a correct PROD notice on the page so this doesn't happen again.

As for Saffron terror, it not only had an incorrect PROD tag but it was already subject to an AFD discussion, Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Saffron terror, so it can not be PROD'd. You'll need to nominate it for deletion again at AFD. You should also give more than a one word rationale for why a page merits deletion.

[edit]

In this edit, you seem to have made a mistake and added a completely unrelated pdf as source, with the result that Kashi Vishwanath page content is sourced to Kashif Hussain's mobile marketing paper. I've reverted it, may be you could try to find the correct source for it? Hemanthah (talk) 11:33, 17 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Devesh.bhatta,

You've repeatedly aired your complaints about this article. Please do not bludgeon the discussion. You don't need to keep repeating yourself over and over again. It doesn't help your argument. Evidence for claims would be more persuasive than just repeating yourself. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 08:09, 10 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Copying from Wikiversity requires attribution

[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from v:The Varanasi Heritage Dossier/Razia Mosque into Razia Mosque. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. DanCherek (talk) 03:07, 15 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

DanCherek thanks for letting me know. added details as per your suggestion. Devesh S N Bhatta (talk) 03:52, 15 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you! You don't actually need to put it in the article itself (and shouldn't), but rather in the edit summary as I've done at Special:Diff/1065746935. DanCherek (talk) 03:57, 15 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

You did it again. It doesn't seem like you have read the policy and understood what it says. Your edit had no edit summary at all! -- Kautilya3 (talk) 14:07, 15 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Please adhere to WP:V

[edit]

You've once again added content that's not at all there in the references you used. Even in a non-sanctioned area, it'd be sloppy but given the WP:ARBIPA sanction notices above, repeated instances of poor sourcing show a recklessness on your part that's not productive. hemantha (brief) 06:24, 17 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Devesh has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Just a dictionary entry now. There's no particular reason or source to think this name needs an article here.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. hemantha (brief) 06:51, 17 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Notice of Arbitration Enforcement noticeboard discussion

[edit]

Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there is currently a report involving you at Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Enforcement regarding a possible violation of an Arbitration Committee decision. The thread is Devesh.bhatta. Thank you. hemantha (brief) 08:09, 23 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Acknowledged,
My IP was blocked had some personal priorities. I am still juggling with few things. Will reply to arbitration as soon as possible . Thanks. Devesh S N Bhatta (talk) 05:37, 18 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Devesh.Bhatta, I wanted to drop the link WP:Communication is required, and remind you that you sometimes you really need to discuss things, in particular, at the WP:AE thread linked above. Some of your changes are a bit confusion and we need you to help us by explaining them. Dennis Brown - 11:36, 23 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Dennis Brown - , I will reply to arbitration, my IP was blocked had some personal priorities. Thanks for letting me know. Appreciate it. Devesh S N Bhatta (talk) 05:35, 18 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
    • That was almost 2 months ago. It's a bit late. Dennis Brown - 11:53, 18 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Appreciate your prompt reply sir, I have been busy with some life event. What options I have now? Devesh S N Bhatta (talk) 08:30, 19 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
      • See the topic ban below? That is very serious, read and follow. You can not make any edits related to India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. That means not even talking about on any article that relates to those subject. Not even allowed to discuss anything relating to them on your talk page. Zero, zilch. If you do, whatever admin catches it will block you on the spot. It's hard, but it's what it is, and other editors will report you in a second if you do. Your option is only to edit in other places, don't make waves and 6 months, you can file an appeal at WP:AN to have your topic ban lifted. When you do, you need to explain why the ban is no longer needed, and what you plan to do to avoid being disruptive. Dennis Brown - 18:27, 19 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Notice that you are now subject to an arbitration enforcement sanction

[edit]

The following sanction now applies to you:

You have been indefinitely topic banned from all pages and discussions concerning India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan, broadly construed.

You have been sanctioned As per the decision made at WP:AE https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Enforcement&oldid=1068033667

This sanction is imposed in my capacity as an uninvolved administrator under the authority of the Arbitration Committee's decision at Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/India-Pakistan#Final decision and, if applicable, the procedure described at Wikipedia:Arbitration Committee/Discretionary sanctions. This sanction has been recorded in the log of sanctions. If the sanction includes a ban, please read the banning policy to ensure you understand what this means. If you do not comply with this sanction, you may be blocked for an extended period, by way of enforcement of this sanction—and you may also be made subject to further sanctions.

You may appeal this sanction using the process described here. I recommend that you use the arbitration enforcement appeals template if you wish to submit an appeal to the arbitration enforcement noticeboard. You may also appeal directly to me (on my talk page), before or instead of appealing to the noticeboard. Even if you appeal this sanction, you remain bound by it until you are notified by an uninvolved administrator that the appeal has been successful. You are also free to contact me on my talk page if anything of the above is unclear to you. Doug Weller talk 15:47, 26 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
