Pattern Recognition Letters

[edit]

These edits were unnecessary. Disambiguation should only be done when something is ambiguous, and there's nothing else that Pattern Recognition Letters could be but a journal. See WP:DAB for more information. Headbomb {t · c · p · b} 15:23, 28 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Partial title matches

[edit]

I just removed several entries you added to Systematic, per WP:PTM. Please keep that in mind when adding entries to dab pages. Entries do not get full stops. There seems nothing in MOS:DAB specifically ruling them out, but if you look at some random dab pages, you will see that this is universally done. Also remember MOS:DABONE: one blue link per entry. Happy editing, Paradoctor (talk) 16:21, 28 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Congruence bias
added a link pointing to Congruence
Truth-default theory
added a link pointing to Veracity

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:01, 31 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Circular

[edit]

Please note that disambiguation pages like Circular are meant to help readers find a specific existing article quickly and easily. For that reason, they have guidelines that are different from articles. From the Wikipedia:Disambiguation dos and don'ts you should:

  • Only list articles that readers might reasonably be looking for
  • Use short sentence fragment descriptions, with no punctuation at the end
  • Use exactly one navigable link ("blue link") in each entry that mentions the title being disambiguated
  • Only add a "red link" if used in existing articles, and include a "blue link" to an appropriate article
  • Do not pipe links (unless style requires it) – keep the full title of the article visible
  • Do not insert external links or references - Wikipedia is not a business directory

Thank you. Leschnei (talk) 23:52, 2 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation pages

[edit]

Xa Sancle, as noted above, DAB pages, like Backlash, Masochism, and Fight or Flight, have different guidelines than articles. Please don't add extra blue links - each entry should have one article link to lead the reader to the information that they are seeking. Leschnei (talk) 14:19, 5 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Overlinking

[edit]

Please take a look at MOS:OVERLINK. Generally, terms should only be linked once in an article, and terms that most people reading the article would be familiar with don't need to be linked at all. -Jason A. Quest (talk) 14:24, 19 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Per MOS:NOSECTIONLINKS: Section headings should not contain links.

General note: You do not have to talk to other editors. But if you keep ignoring other editor's advice on proper editing, you will sooner or later be blocked, as that is considered WP:DISRUPTIVE behavior. While you're at it, please familiarize yourself with WP:OVERLINK. Paradoctor (talk) 12:48, 21 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Linking; you are likely to be blocked if you continue

[edit]

As you can see from the notices above, many of your edits (especially the addition of a variety inappropriate links) are disruptive and against Wikipedia policies and guidelines. Please acknowledge this message, and indicate your intention to cease problematic additions. Otherwise, it will become necessary to seek administrative intervention, and you may be blocked from further editing. --JBL (talk) 12:04, 26 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not use inaccurate edit summaries, as you did at 800 (number). These make it harder for other editors to understand the reasons for your contributions. Certes (talk) 00:47, 28 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, I tried to contribute but it seems not according to Wikipedia rules. Xa Sancle (talk) 00:51, 28 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The correct way to handle this situation is to stop what you're doing and read the rules that have been shared with you. Do you understand this? --JBL (talk) 17:11, 3 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, but a recent edit of yours to the page Problem gambling has an edit summary that appears to be inadequate, inaccurate, or inappropriate. The summaries are helpful to people browsing an article's history, so it is important that you use edit summaries that accurately tell other editors what you did. Feel free to use the sandbox to make test edits. Megaman en m (talk) 16:50, 3 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  ~ ToBeFree (talk) 17:23, 3 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I'm sorry about it, which is the specific place I've done it? Not my intention. Could you consider all the rest contribution and my active participation to unblock me? Thanks. Xa Sancle (talk) 17:51, 3 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

You seem to not be reviewing and acknowledging community concerns about your edits; Wikipedia is a collaborative project where we all work with each other. Please review the comments above about your edits, and make a committment to better acknowledge comments in the future. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 08:50, 4 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

(a late note: Xa Sancle has acknowledged concerns about overlinking above, which is fine – but instead of actually learning from the advice, the same overlinking behavior continued again and again. I'm not concerned about a lack of acknowledgement, I'm concerned about a lack of actual listening and understanding.) ~ ToBeFree (talk) 19:37, 7 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@ToBeFree you're right about linking, I thought I was making wikipedia more connected but you have very strong rules which I apprecciate, I would like to be unblocked to do grammar edits and less linkings.

Thank you.
