Girgizar kasa ta Kunlun na shekarar 2001 wanda kuma aka sani da girgizar Kokoxili na shekarar 2001, ya faru a ranar 14 ga watan Nuwambar shekarar 2001 da 09:26 UTC (17:26 na lokacin gida), tare da girgizar ƙasa a kusa da Kokoxili, kusa da kan iyaka tsakanin Qinghai da Xinjiang a wani yanki mai tsaunuka masu nisa. Tare da girman 7.8 M <sub id="mwDw">w</sub> ita ce girgizar ƙasa mafi ƙarfi a kasar China tsawon shekaru 5. Ba a ba da rahoton asarar rayuka ba, mai yiwuwa saboda ƙarancin yawan jama'a da rashin manyan gine-gine. Wannan girgizar ƙasa tana da alaƙa da fashewar ƙasa mafi tsawo da aka taɓa yi a ƙasa, ~ 450 km da.[1]

Kunlun na ɗaya daga cikin manyan tsagin yajin aikin sinistral wanda ke ɗaukar motsi na gabas na tsaunin Tibet dangane da shimfidar Eurasia . Wannan motsi yana haifar da yaduwa ta gefe na yanki mai kauri wanda ke da alaƙa da karo tsakanin shimfidar Indiya da Eurasia.[2]

Rushewar girgizar ƙasa ta fara ne a wani ɗan ƙaramin ɓangaren ɓarna na yajin aiki a ƙarshen Kunlun a yankin dutsen Buka Daban Feng. Rushewar ta bazu zuwa gabas ta hanyar tsawaitawa kafin ta bi babban kuskuren Kunlun. Yankin naɓarɓarewar girgizar ƙasa (watau abin da ya faru a lokacin girgizar ƙasa) yana da girma sosai, tare da lura da babban kuskure har zuwa 60 km daga babban abin fashewar. Wannan nakasa na faruwa ne a hanyoyi biyu, ca. 20 da 60 km daga babban kuskuren kuskure. Cibiyar jama'a mafi kusa, birnin Golmud, ta ba da rahoton girgizar ƙasa mai ƙarfi amma babu gine -gine da suka rushe. An ba da rahoton wasu lalacewar a wurin ginin layin dogo na Qingzang (layin dogo na Qinghai-Tibet) da kan babbar hanyar Qinghai-Tibet.
