Grand Prix Sepeda Motor musim 1953 merupakan edisi ke-5 dari kejuaraan MotoGP. Musim ini terdapat 8 Grand Prix dengan 5 kelas: 500cc, 350cc, 250cc, 125cc dan Sidecars 500cc. Itu dimulai pada 12 Juni, dengan Isle of Man TT dan diakhiri dengan Grand Prix Spanyol pada tanggal 4 Oktober.

† Setelah menyatakan trek tidak aman sebelum latihan dimulai, semua tim pabrikan mundur dari kelas 350cc dan 500cc di Grand Prix Jerman yang diusulkan. Acara dilanjutkan, namun dengan kesepakatan kedua kelas ini hanya dihitung sebagai event internasional biasa.[1]

Poin diberikan kepada enam finis teratas di setiap balapan. Hanya empat balapan terbaik yang dihitung di Sidecars, 125cc dan 250cc, sedangkan di kejuaraan 350cc dan 500cc, lima hasil terbaik dihitung.
