Robert Bushnell Ryan (November 11, 1909 – July 11, 1973) was an American actor and activist. He was known for playing tough cops and ruthless villains. He worked in theater and movies. Ryan was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his rolein Crossfire (1947).[1]

Ryan died of lung cancer in New York City on July 11, 1973 at the age of 63.
