Esther Garrel (född 18 februari 1991) är en fransk skådespelar. Hon är känd från sin medverkan i bland annat filmera 17 Girls (2011), Jealousy (2013), Call Me by Your Name (2017), and Thirst Street (2017).
Biografi
[redigera | redigera wikitext]Garrel föddes i Paris och hennes pappa är filmskaparen Philippe Garrel och hennes mamma är skådespelaren Brigitte Sy. Hennes bror Louis Garrel; och hennes farfar Maurice Garrel är båda skådespelare.[1]
Karriär
[redigera | redigera wikitext]Esther Garrel gjorde sin filmdebut in av hennes pappas filmer Wild Innocence.[2] Efter det medverkade hon i 17 Girls i regi av Delphine och Muriel Coulin, med världspremiär under filmfestivalen i Cannes 2001.[3][4] as well as Youth directed by Justine Malle.[5] 2013 var hon huvudroll tillsammans med sin bror i Jealousy, regisserad av sin pappa.[6]
2017 spelade hon i Call Me by Your Name, mot Timothée Chalamet, Armie Hammer, och Michael Stuhlbarg, i regi av Luca Guadagnino.[7] Den hade världspremiär på Sundance Film Festival.[8] Efter detta följde filmen Thirst Street regisserad av Nathan Silver.[9] som hade sin premiär under Tribeca Film Festival den 21 april 2017[10] och Lover for a Day regisserad av hennes pappa med primär under Cannes Film Festival i maj 2017.[11]
