EXCLUSIVE: Legendary Pictures has closed a deal for Adria Arjona to join Pacific Rim 2 alongside John Boyega, Scott Eastwood, Jing Tian and Cailee Spaeny. Steven S. DeKnight is directing the sequel based on the world created by Guillermo del Toro and Travis Beacham.
Arjona headlines NBC’s upcoming series Emerald City as Dorothy Gale. The retelling of The Wizard of Oz air on Jan. 6. Arjona, who is repped by UTA, One Entertainment and Stone, Genow, Smelkinson, Binder & Christopher, stars in the James Gunn horror production The Belko Experiment and the upcoming Melissa McCarthy movie Life of the Party. The actress also co-starred in the 2015 installment of HBO’s True Detective.
Thomas Tull, Mary Parent, Jon Jashni, and del Toro are producing Pacific Rim 2 along with Boyega and Femi Oguns under their Upper Room Productions shingle. Cale Boyter will serve as the film’s EP.
