Date of official opening

[edit]

Edits like this are not appropriate. Ships do not have official opening in the way that property is intended for. At least in the example I linked to, the date is for the ship launching, which is in no way an "official opening". I would encourage you to go back and remove these, and be more cautious about importing values from Wikipedias. Huntster (t @ c) 17:28, 16 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Cycling race

[edit]

For one-day races, the criterion "point in time" (P585) is used. Not "start date" (P580) as it matches/comes in pair with "end date" (P582). And for most races, these values are already indicated. — GAN (talk) 11:32, 27 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

https://www.wikidata.org/w/index.php?title=Q41598&curid=43876&diff=1905062927&oldid=1874159082 I tried to add values for the missing racer via "quickstatements". Everything worked out. Instead of the rider's name, I used the word "novalue" without quotes. And in several other championships similarly. — GAN (talk) 12:29, 30 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Snooker tournaments

[edit]

Hi Verpetino, would you please stick to this data pattern for snooker tournaments. Some of your changes do not make sense, a single tournament obviously is no sports season. Regards -- HvW (talk) 22:44, 30 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

By the way, country (P17) is for geographical objects only. -- HvW (talk) 00:21, 31 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

You are not by any chance the user formerly known as &beer&love? You are adding massively home venue (P115) to single sports events although the description says, home venue applies to sports teams. "Home" does not make sense here, not with events with changing locations and not at all with single disciplines of those events. As source you quote en: who do not name it home venue (P115) but location (P276) which of course is the appropriate property. A user who changes such big numbers of items should be sure about what he is doing because he does a lot of damage if he is wrong. And you are repeatedly wrong. Be more careful in future. This is a warning. -- HvW (talk) 22:50, 1 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Recreation of deleted item

[edit]

I have deleted Q118949989 because it appears to be a recreation of deleted item Q117451520 . This means that we have already made a decision that this entity does not satisfy our notability criteria. Please do not recreate deleted items, as they are likely to be deleted again immediately, and your account may be blocked. To appeal this decision, see Wikidata:Guide to requests for undeletion. Incorrect use of subclass of (P279)

[edit]

Hello –

This edit to "thermal bath" (Q1004887) was in error. The properties instance of (P31) and subclass of (P279) define key ontological relationships. Because subclass of (P279) is transitive, such errors lead to numerous false inferences, such as thermal bath (Q1004887)subclass of (P279)motion (Q79782). Before you use these properties, please look at the object item to be sure it's the one you intend. You can also review the usage instructions on these two properties, and Help:Basic membership properties. (In particular, note that "A" is only a subclass of "B" if all instances of "A" are also instances of "B".) There is often another property better suited to expressing the relationship you had in mind; you can search for one here. Thanks! Swpb (talk) 17:14, 18 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
