- This map agrees with the Allentown-Bethlehem-Easton metropolitan area (Q113137311) and the wikipedia infobox for the Allentown-Bethlehem-Easton, PA-NJ metropolitan area in the Lehigh Valley article. Note, the U.S. Census Bureau does not have an entry for the Lehigh Valley. As a subset of the MSA, its population is less than that of the entire MSA, which is reported by the bureau. The Lehigh Valley economic development[2] uses the sum of the populations of the two counties (Lehigh and Northampton) as a proxy for the population of the Lehigh Valley: 687,500 versus 861,889. That is why I am trying to distinguish between the Lehigh Valley and the Allentown-Bethlehem-Easton, PA-NJ metropolitan area. e.g. The demographics section in the Lehigh Valley article should use Allentown-Bethlehem-Easton, PA-NJ metropolitan area instead of Lehigh Valley with the 861,889 value.
