Catholics are Christians

[edit]

What does "Christian or Catholic" mean? Last I checkhed, Catholics were Christians. I'm editing this to "Christian". Druworos (talk) 19:10, 6 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Never ever heard of this before

[edit]

I'm Church Of England. I do not think it is a "christian" thing, as I've never heard of it. 89.240.110.129 (talk) 19:16, 6 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Probably because it's a regional thing.. "The ritual of passing the arrhae by the bridesgroom to the bride has become a part of wedding ceremonies in the Southeast Asian country of the Philippines and in Hispanic and Latin American countries, particularly in Mexico ...". -- œ 19:26, 6 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I believe that in the Philippines it is also called 'arras'. Denisarona (talk) 20:24, 6 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

In the fifth paragraph, about half way down the page, you finally tell us that its something localised?!?! Surely that information should be in the first sentance of the first paragraph, such as "In the Philipinnes and Mexico, Arrhase are coins used in weddings...". Not half way down the article in the fith paragraph!! 84.13.166.170 (talk) 23:58, 6 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Surely a more productive thing to do would be to move or add it yourself? It might be more civil to calm down and be bold. 79.67.246.166 (talk) 09:09, 7 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The coinbearer as a male

[edit]

This fact is not completely true, as in Spain both boys and girls can bear the "arras" (in fact, I'm a woman and I was a coinbearer when I was four). --Nerinee (talk) 15:30, 19 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Madrina de arras

[edit]

The madrina de arras is the female sponsor that presents the coins to the groom during the ceremony. It is NOT the box I am editing this inaccuracy. The box may be called cofre — Preceding unsigned comment added by Racc11 (talkcontribs) 13:39, 30 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
