Sorry

[edit]

I think this is the right place to add a message.. anyway, about the vandalism, I didn't know how to change it back, so I just delete what my friend wrote. - - he was tryin to make fun of me. - -x sorry bout that.

Hi, You were the last person to warn the above (already blocked once). If you look at Albrecht Durer you will see they have been at it again many times in the last few days - just texting friends I think. I can't see the history on them. Time for another block? Thanks Johnbod 16:46, 28 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I think so as he was doing it a lot in the past two days, that definitely satisfy the requirement of blocking. I think Can't sleep, clown will eat me has blocked him for 99 hours already. Thanks for discussing about this situation with me --Cyktsui 23:51, 28 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • ok thanks - but there's no (recent) block message on his User page

Johnbod 00:04, 29 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You are correct. However, if we look at this page, it is shown that the user is blocked. Keep up the good work of making Wikipedia better! --Cyktsui 01:13, 29 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • ok thanks again

Victor

[edit]

Do you leave a message by hitting the plus sign? edit: never mind, I figured out. Just hit edit this page. Thanks.

Hitting the "+" sign starts a new heading, while "edit this page" edit the whole page. You can also click on "edit" within the individual section to edit only that part. Also, please remember to sign your post on talk page with four tildes (~~~~). --Cyktsui 00:31, 30 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Victor: Oh, okay, I get it now. I created an account now too.

Innove 00:43, 30 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

What are those signs on your user page? Innove 04:05, 30 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The are called Userboxes. They are used to display some information about yourself. --Cyktsui 04:23, 30 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

How do you get them? Or do you make them? Innove 04:27, 30 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
If you go to the bottom of the Userboxes page, it has links to a list of existing userboxes that you can use. You can create your own if you want to. You can also click on edit this page while on my user page to look at the source code. Any question, drop me a message again. --Cyktsui 04:38, 30 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. Sorry to trouble you though; I imagine you have a lot of stuff to do. Innove 04:41, 30 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Not a problem. It's my pleasure to be able to assist you learning how to be a better Wikipedian! --Cyktsui 04:45, 30 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hey thanks for the note on my Wiki page. I'm kind of a newb at this, so it's good to learn the protocol for reporting idiots morons vandals. I'm still learning the ropes around here. EOBeav 14:09, 3 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Not a problem. We are all hoping to improve Wikipedia! --Cyktsui 22:40, 3 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Triple Triad

[edit]

Yes, it does have more information. The reason it does is because, after copying the page over into a section of the new Minigames of Final Fantasy page, I and other editors proceeded to remove a lot of unencyclopedic information from it, as per WP:NOT, a game guide specifically. Please see Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Final_Fantasy for more information. Feel free to edit the new page if you think too much information was cut, but Triple Triad, Tetra Master, Blitzball, and Sphere Break, are, at present, all being merged together into one article. --PresN 07:39, 7 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

My point is I think we should still keep the original article, but use see also. What is your view on that? --Cyktsui 07:43, 7 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

What do you think your doing?

[edit]

I don't like being the bad guy but it seems that you have been touching things that DO NOT belong to you and have absolutely nothing to do with you. In future please ask before changing any of my pages! Especially the Tropy! Drizzt Jamo 22:57, 11 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

May I ask which page have I changed incorrectly? It would be good if you could be more specific so I can avoid doing that in the future. --Cyktsui 23:28, 11 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Here. That's it. Thanks Mate! Drizzt Jamo 00:19, 13 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks a lot. The reason I have changed the page is user 203.63.118.241 is an unregistered user and he has a history of vandalism of a large number of pages. Sorry about reverting your page incorrectly. --Cyktsui 00:26, 13 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wow.....

[edit]

If your going to offer suggestions of what to do instead of vandalizing, i suggest you do it earlier than 3 hours later. Maddox 23:28, 18 December 2006 (UTC)

It is not relevant, you should not be vandalizing a page in the first place. It was a friendly reminder that we welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but please STOP vandalizing pages, or you will be blocked from editing. PS: It's not like it was after 3 hours! --Cyktsui 23:41, 18 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Input Boxes

[edit]

What different input box types are there? And, as a seperate note, how do you add borders and format in general. I only know of the Search and Create input boxes. Innove 23:13, 19 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Innove, long time no see, glad that you are still enjoying being a Wikipedian. Unfortunately, I do not know too much about input box types and neither am I a formatting person for Wikipedia. You may want to add {{helpme}} in your userpage and someone will come and help you out. --Cyktsui 23:15, 19 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Hey, good to see you too. Heh, the search finally worked, so I found a link to Media Wiki, which has a page on making and editing input boxes. Thanks for the help anyway. Innove 23:18, 19 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

"Main protagonist"

[edit]

I disagree, because in Final Fantasies, there are often several main characters (Rinoa, Quistis, etc). Because Squall's the leader of the group, he can be considered the main protagonist. It's not uncommon for stories to feature several protagonists. Aren't Jack and Rose both protagonists in Titanic? — Deckiller 15:00, 26 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

If you look at the article for Squall, the word main was added later on and I have reverted it a few times and it has never been reverted back before. So it seems like a lot of people agree that the word 'main' is not required. However, I do see your point, and that's the reason I did not mark the changes are minor edits =). Maybe we can have a discussion with the others about it to see what they think. Personally, I think Quistis is not a main character. It's a major one, but not the main one. Both Jack and Rose are main characters - there could be more than 1 main character, especially one is male and one is female. I think the equivalent word in movie is principal character. --Cyktsui 23:43, 26 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Comment about Talk page List of FFVIII characters

[edit]

Hi, I'm new to Wikipedia and my name is Eileen and I just like to say that I deleted the Ultimecia/Rinoa stuff to put it in the Talk page: Ultimecia if you are wondering. It was requested by another user so I'm doing it for him. So could you leave it like that and pass the news on? I don't have an account but if you reply on your page I'll read it happily. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 67.142.130.18 (talk) 01:36, 29 December 2006 (UTC).[reply]

About the article Queen's College, Hong Kong

[edit]

I have started a discussion in the talk page of the article to talk about the position of the paragraphs about the criminal/suspected criminal incidents of the school. Please see my argument here. Thanks! - INTELer 10:19, 5 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

By the way, please browse through the history before you make comment about my edits. It's not me who moved the parts to the top intentionally. They were originally there, but there were some vandals who moved that to the bottom, I was just returning something to where they should be. - INTELer 10:25, 5 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed you've been reverted this guy's changes to. If you look at all his contributions, they are all bad. Is it possible to block him from editing wiki? Thanks, WikiJonathanpeter 16:31, 3 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unfortunately no as after I have given the user a level 4 warning, he has not made further contributions. Administrators will not block the user. For further information, please visit Wikipedia:Guide_to_administrator_intervention_against_vandalism. Keep on the good job! --Cyktsui 16:33, 3 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, I was thinking of another user that I have given final warning to. If you give the user a final warning (level 4 one) and the user still does not stop, you can report the user on Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism. --Cyktsui 16:38, 3 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Done, thanks. WikiJonathanpeter 11:40, 4 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, sorry that was my fault. I reverted my edit back to your revision, so it's fine now. Once again, we win, vandals lose. :) · AndonicO Talk 23:26, 3 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

RC Patrol

[edit]

Hi, thanks for the encouragement. You may want to add this to your monoscript to get admin-like rollback capability at the following page: User:Lupin/Anti-vandal tool. If you need any assistance please let me know :) Regards,- Gilliam 06:57, 11 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

First, click the boxes labeled "Automatically expand new content" and "Use non-admin rollback". Then it should work. - Gilliam 08:10, 11 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Since you've installed Lupin's tool, your Wikipedia screen should look differently. If it doesn't, try logging in again. Specifically, you should have more tabs and more functions in your toolbox. To patrol recent changes, click on "Recent IP changes" in the toolbox. Then click on "Use non-admin rollback" and you can begin :) - Gilliam 08:22, 11 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You recently Undid revision 137267013 by 68.196.117.75 on Talk:Christianity. Although this comment wasn't relevant or necessary it is still best for all comments to remain unless they are PAs. As you are a fairly prolific editor I'm sure you know this. I have reverted the page to 136267013. Thanks, Monkeyblue 12:36, 11 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Previewing refs

[edit]

Hi Cyktsui. One of your recent edit summaries for Michael Schumacher included the statement "I wish there was a preview for ref". When editing references, I usually find it's easiest to edit the whole article, rather than just a section; then when you do a preview, any updated references will appear in the References section. Regards. DH85868993 01:03, 13 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I had thought that their last delete was after the warning, but the record shows that I misread the record at the time.

Normally we try to AGF and warn first; in this case, they kept going back in and deleting sections of the article repeatedly, which is hard to AGF about. It's the sort of behavior we see in blooming new vandals. Those are blockable on sight; theoretically indefinitely, though I didn't in this case.

If someone shows up and starts doing severe damage to anything at a rapid clip, we don't warn, we just block to stop them. Georgewilliamherbert 05:45, 21 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your suggestion. After I had examined the reasons for keeping the page in Wikipedia, I believe it is necessary to remain the page in Wikipedia as long as the article is neutral and the verdict has not been made at the moment. Best Regards. Narold 10:41, 19 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
