Andrea Mantegna

Andrea Mantegna (* 1430/31 - 1506) was an Northern Italian painter, engraver and occasional sculptor. By influence of his friend Leon Battista Alberti he also worked as an architect.

From 1460 until his death he worked as the official court painter to the Gonzaga of Mantua.
