Species

[edit]

These species use to belong to the genus Paprides:

  • Sigaus dugdali (Bigelow, 1967). A grasshopper species found in tussock above 400 m above sea level in the southern half of South Island New Zealand.[3]
  • Sigaus nitidus (Hutton, 1898) An alpine grasshopper species restricted to the northern two thirds of South Island New Zealand. Females are larger than males.[4] This species is sister to three species that were previously in the genus Brachaspis (Sigaus collinus; S. nivalis and S. robustus).[3]
