Pronunciation

[edit]

IS it pronounced 'Akilani' or 'Akwilani'? Mjefm (talk) 17:31, 21 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The second one. Much like L'Aquila. Spiderone (talk) 16:15, 5 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Language use

[edit]

What is an "observant midfielder"? is this a typo or just a term I'm not familiar with? 78.86.187.17 (talk) 14:34, 15 July 2009 (UTC) Someone who watches from the sidelines alot. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 138.253.48.109 (talk) 10:52, 5 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Badly needs a re-write

[edit]

This page reads like it was written for a blog by a Roma fan, it doesn't read like an encyclopaedia entry. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.96.54.69 (talk) 19:55, 30 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The line about him only making 2 assists needs removing the source website doesn't record assists from some european leagues —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.1.133.136 (talk) 02:03, 16 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Heavy vandalism

[edit]

This article's had a major vandalism problem, in the last day or two. With this edit I tried to revert to the last stable version. Looks like the right one, but someone more familiar with the subject might want to double check my work. – Luna Santin (talk) 13:23, 3 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Why still persist with this joke statistic?? check other italian players they have no assists pre 2006 you think totti never assisted in italy pre 2006??? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.1.133.136 (talk) 07:37, 22 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

DOB Error

[edit]

{{editsemiprotected}}

Aquilani's DOB is incorrect in the right hand pane. His correct DOB is 7/7/1984, making him 25, not 26.

http://www.asroma.it/LaSquadraDoc.aspx?Numero=2793

Done, thanks for pointing that out. – Luna Santin (talk) 18:49, 3 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Who's doing the maths - if he was born in July 1985, he would be 24 (just) wouldn't he? Am I missing something? Jdnt01248 (talk) 09:48, 4 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The original comment opening this thread was vandalized (diff); I've restored the original. If there is still a problem, please let us know. – Luna Santin (talk) 01:29, 5 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Signing for Liverpool

[edit]

The article currently says he signed for Liverpool on 5 August. This is incorrect - Liverpool FC announced they had agreed a fee with Roma, but the transfer is subject to the player completing a medical. I suggest the section for Liverpool FC is removed until the transfer is actually completed. He remains a Roma player at the moment. Bloomsburyred (talk) 18:05, 5 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Picture

[edit]

Is there no real photograph of him we can use? I cant actually believe one from a football game has been used. Ridiculous.--94.193.6.182 (talk) 21:53, 5 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It must be a free image otherwise it can't be used. Spiderone (talk) 08:08, 6 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It is an abysmal picture. I note that several of his Roma teammates have suffered the same fate. It's impossible to tell them apart. They all look like they've been screencapped from a PS1 game. With luck someone will provide a pic from his official unveiling as a Liverpool player. danno 21:31, 12 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Youth caps

[edit]

As FIGC archive missed 4 matches in U19 [1][2][3][4], i added back to the caps. Matthew_hk tc 00:37, 14 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Personal Life

[edit]

Will someone write about his personal life? He has a fiancee named Michela, but I don't know anything else about his personal life —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bandishbhoir (talkcontribs) 15:35, 30 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Transfer in Italy

[edit]

I request a protection to the page against unregistered users for continous edits, caused by the speculation that the player will transfer to Juventus F.C. to loan. This is not official, so I think that the player current team has to be Liverpool F.C. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.37.242.202 (talk) 15:17, 20 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Squad number

[edit]

While so many registered and unregistered editors argue over his squad number, I've protected the article.

Reach consensus here, not by edit warring. GedUK  06:43, 7 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Someone said what's provable. Well yesterday in the match, his number was 15, and had his name on. But on the website [which actually changes for some reason] it says 97. It was 98 and maybe 99 before.
I am assuming that his number is 15, but we'll see what numbers he is wearing in the leagueMr tim111 (talk) 11:27, 7 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Well, at this moment in time, the squad list on the official Liverpool website lists him as being numberless, so that's what we should go with. If he had been assigned number 15 it would have been listed there or been reported in an article on the official website. Cheers, Mattythewhite (talk) 15:03, 7 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Exactly what I said earlier about the web, keeps on changing from one number, to numberless to another number to numberless. Its very likely now that No.15 is his number, but not really confirmed by LFC really. We'll find out in the next few weeks, but for now, keep it as numberless.
Also not forgetting that rumors say that he could be out of LFC... Mr tim111 (talk) 15:54, 7 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I have to bow to you two. I was pushing for the 97 number because that was what the player profile that I reffed said, but exactly as you predicted, they've changed the article! I don't think that they've even just removed the number, I think that it is a reversion to an earlier version as it says that he is on year's loan at Juve. I don't recall it saying that before. Given that, I would concur with numberless as the way to go until there is an actual announcement rather than just their website designers messing about. danno 19:21, 8 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Aquilani now confirmed as number 15 on official site... Mr tim111 (talk) 13:01, 12 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Assuming that they don't change it again. That's the same ref that I was using before they pulled the rug out from under me... danno 22:23, 12 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
