Possible outdated information:  Near the beginning of the article, it states that there are a total of 46 Deseret Industries thrift stores.  I remember hearing this figure quite some time ago, since before one store that I know about was closed.  I was working at the main Sacramento facility from April 2005 to May 2006, and during that time, there was a big to–do with product, equipment, and workers being absorbed from the South Sacramento store as it was being shut down.  By way of trying to solve this mystery for myself, I went to <http://www.providentliving.org/location/map/0,12566,2026-1-1,00.html> and from there counted up all the facilities that are listed under the seven different states.  There are indeed a total of 46 facilities listed, but one of them (the one at 1680 South Industrial Rd. in Salt Lake City), from the name, would appear to be a factory, rather than a store; which would mean that (assuming all the other facilities listed are stores) that there is a total of 45, not 46 stores.

Does anyone here know anything to shed more light on this?

  • What I think should be changed: add short description "thrift store chain owned by the LDS church"
  • Why it should be changed: per WP:SDESC, all articles should have a short description
  • References supporting the possible change (format using the "cite" button):
