Cloud Atlas

[edit]

Cloud Atlas features a young composer working as an amanuenses for an aging English syphilitic composer at his home in France between the wars.--88.106.93.238 (talk) 23:37, 30 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Cloud Atlas (novel) says that part of the story was "set in Zedelghem, near Bruges, Belgium" in 1931. In Cloud Atlas (film), it's set in Edinburgh in 1936.
Are you suggesting this is a rip-off of the Fenby/Delius story? -- Jack of Oz [pleasantries] 00:04, 31 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The influence of Delius and Fenby on the book have been openly acknowledged by David Mitchell himself. See https://www.theguardian.com/books/2010/jun/12/book-club-mitchell-cloud-atlas --Michelham (talk) 15:08, 8 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
