Was he in "I'm Sorry I'll Read that Again"? He's certainly a regular on "I'm sorry I haven't a clue" -- Tarquin.

Graeme certainly was in ISIRTA and helped write it. Tim and Bill were also regulars on the programme. ISIHAC falls (just) within the definition of panel games. The late arrivals round picks up on a running joke that was often interwoven into the adventure stories of ISIRTA. (eg. Mr and Mrs Wall-Carpeting and their son Walter).
John Cleese was also a regular on "I'm Sorry, I'll Read That Again".
Graeme was a member of "I'm Sorry, I'll Read That Again" from the start. At the same time, he was studying medicine in London.
Graeme did a midwifery medical course in Plymouth, and, because of this, he was not able to be a member of the cast of ISIRTA during the third season, due to the enormous distance between London and Plymouth which prevented Graeme from being able to travel to London to record ISIRTA during that period.
However, Graeme kept on sending scripts for the radio show by mail - and rejoined the cast of ISIRTA upon his return to his medical studies in London. Figaro 00:55, 19 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No picture?

[edit]

Strange that there be a bio of this man and no accompanying photograph.

Put up a crappy screenshot. And now, I'm going to sleepy bo-bos --Paul 06:56, 21 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Interview Mention

[edit]

This wikipedia entry was mentioned (and quoted from) in an interviev with Graeme Garden on the BBC Radio 4 program "Loose Ends" the other day. Clair 12:15, 24 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Cambridge Footlights

[edit]

In the article it currently says "...where he joined the prestigious Cambridge University Footlights Club (of which he became President in 1964), and performed with the 1963 Footlights revue, Stuff What Dreams Are Made Of at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival."

I thought that the 1963 show was "A clump of plinths" and that "Stuff what dreams are made of" was 1964. Can someone check this? Clair 17:42, 6 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You are correct. I will amend the article with the correct information. Figaro 22:52, 6 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I have now corrected the date on the article. The mistake was probably a typo. Figaro 22:55, 6 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Unstructured

[edit]

I notice that Radio 4 is repeating the GG series 'About a Dog'. I was going to add this to the main page but I didn't want to add to the muddle. It stikes me as being very unstructured. I don't want to put any noses out of joint and I realise that it's easier to complain about something than do it yourself but I think this page could do with restructuring. A bit beyond my abilities, I'm afraid. Any takers? Doozy88 21:42, 10 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with this... maybe break it up by (roughly) decades? (i.e., Early life and work (up til ISIRTA I suppose), 70s/Goodies/ISIHAC, 80s/90s, and then Recent years) I could give this a shot, I guess... will practice first! Bangdrum 01:59, 29 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No, after reading through it, I think it has to be broken up by *type* of show/play/etc. I will do this... I've never done a full-scale page restructuring before, but I'll give it my best! Bangdrum 02:05, 29 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

OK, how's that then? If anyone wants to organize it any better, go right ahead. I think it's fairly well sorted now - stage appearances all in the same place, etc. Bangdrum 02:24, 29 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Scottish -> British

[edit]

Given that Garden moved to England at the age of 4 and never moved back to Scotland, I have edited the article to describe him as "British" instead of "Scottish". If there is any evidence of his particular affinity with his Scottish heritage from his toddler years (e.g. if there are more interviews where he describes himself as Scottish than British in his own words), then this should be changed back. Andrew Oakley (talk) 03:49, 19 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, given the messy situation re what is a country in the UK, the best approach is to use the subject's self-description. If not available, he no doubt carries a British passport, so British will do. I have to disagree with your Edit summary though. You said "...his Scottish heritage is questionable at best." In fact, his Scottish heritage is in no doubt whatsoever, by definition. HiLo48 (talk) 03:55, 19 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Stage appearances

[edit]

What is "He has also acted in several BBC Radio 4 comedy drama series, and television drama including Peak Practice and Holby City." doing in a section titled Stage Appearances? That's radio and telly, isn't it? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 31.52.254.6 (talk) 20:49, 13 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I saw him starring in Moliere's The Miser in the early 80s. Aside form someone else's vague recollection I can't find a firm reference. Can anyone help? Stub Mandrel (talk) 21:00, 30 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
