Needs better flow and order--Pradeep.V 15:38, 19 July 2007 (UTC)There should be standard diacritical marks for the sanskrit, such as in [[1]][reply]

Distinction

[edit]

There is a distinction between the Pancaratra in the Sri Vaishnava and Gaudiya Vaishnava traditions - this distinction MUST be made clearer in the article, as should the associated texts and derived beliefs - which are connected by Vaishnava tradition but in certain ways very different from each other. --Shruti14 talksign 17:16, 21 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Article is also lacking reliable sources supporting either perspective; more need to be found and cited. --Shruti14 talksign 20:29, 21 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Swami Ramanuja did not establish pancaratra as stated

[edit]

Pancaratra came from Nar-Narayana avatar. The Lord, Sriman Narayana, wanting to establish the guru-shishya sambandam - to stand as an example of how a guru should be, and how a shishya should be, took the form of Nara - the shishya, and Narayana - the Guru. This is often called the Nara-Narayana Avataar of the Lord as per Srimad Bhagavatam

In 5 nights (Panca - 5, Ratra - Nights), Narayana teaches Nara the Pancaratra Agama.

Source: Swami Pillai Lokacharya's Mumukshuppadi, Tirumantra Prakaranam.

Swami Ramanuja established worship practices in Srirangam using the teachings in Pancaratra agama. Vaikhasana agama is another Sri Vaishnava Agama - this is followed in Tirupati Temple.

It is when the Lord took the Nara-Narayana avataar, As Narayana, He gives Nara the Thiru Ashtaakshari Mantram. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.223.216.29 (talk) 13:41, 15 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

History section needs to be redone

[edit]

History section needs to be redone, it is not even close to the understanding of those who follow the system and full of speculations of Western academics. Better to redo it or remove it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 49.206.14.104 (talk) 09:19, 17 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
