renamed

[edit]

These pages need to be slightly renamed. These deal with AFRICAN Rift Valley lakes. There are other rift valleys in the world besides that in eastern Africa and southwestern Asia. And, these other rift valleys often contain lakes. A "rift valley lake" is any lake within a rift valley and does not denote location in Africa. The use of generalized terms for specific ones (and vice-versa) is a HUGE problem in the article naming scheme that is currently Wikipedia. Contributors--whether professionals, laypeople, editors, etc.--need to be much more conscientious about this issue. 71.210.81.5220:18, 5 August 2007 (UTC)Chemist470[reply]

Isn't Lake Langano one of them? Badagnani 05:02, 8 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Seems it ought to be, since it has a larger area than some on the list. Adding it. Owenozier (talk) 22:56, 8 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Koka

[edit]

Should Koka Lake be listed among the Ethiopian Rift Valley lakes? It is an artificial reservoir along the Awash River. While it could be mentioned (as Lake Tana is), I'm not sure whether it should be listed as a proper Rift Valley lake. -- Gyrofrog (talk) 20:09, 20 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
