Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Njdowntown2.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Calvin 1998 (t-c) 05:34, 10 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi

[edit]

Your photos about Nanjing are wonderful. I really love the one taken in shixianglu. I moved some of your works to commons, so that they can be used in all wikimedia projects, especially in zh. Could you please also upload your new photos to commons? Thank you! btw, did you graduate from No.1 Middle School and Southeast University? --Alexcn (talk) 18:06, 9 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hi,Godofnanjing. Glad to meet you! I'm Huang Sir, from Chinese WiKipedia. MtBell told me you come from 南京一中. And I will tell you I'm also a member of 南京一中. I graduated at 2007. I created Nanjing No.1 High School. By the way, Huang Yang, which code is missing now, was my account at that time. I'm engaging to promote 南京 in Chinese Wikipedia at present. welcome to Huang Sir in Chinese Wikipedia ! “海内存知己,天涯若比邻”:) Huang Sir (talk) 16:09, 9 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. Concerning your contribution, File:Njaoti1.jpg, please note that Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted text or images obtained from other web sites or printed material, without the permission of the author(s). As a copyright violation, File:Njaoti1.jpg appears to qualify for deletion under the speedy deletion criteria. File:Njaoti1.jpg has been tagged for deletion, and may have been deleted by the time you see this message.

If you believe that the article or image is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) then you should do one of the following:

  • If you have permission from the author, leave a message explaining the details at File talk:Njaoti1.jpg and send an email with the message to "permissions-en (at) wikimedia (dot) org". See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
  • If a note on the original website states that re-use is permitted under the GFDL or released into the public domain leave a note at File talk:Njaoti1.jpg with a link to where we can find that note.
  • If you hold the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the GFDL, and note that you have done so on File talk:Njaoti1.jpg.

However, for textual content, you may simply consider rewriting the content in your own words. While we appreciate contributions, we must require all contributors to understand and comply with our copyright policy. Wikipedia takes copyright concerns very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. Thank you. (ESkog)(Talk) 01:40, 29 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

NowCommons: File:1912biulding.jpg

[edit]

File:1912biulding.jpg is now available on Wikimedia Commons as Commons:File:Pubs in Nanjing 1912 block.jpg. This is a repository of free media that can be used on all Wikimedia wikis. The image will be deleted from Wikipedia, but this doesn't mean it can't be used anymore. You can embed an image uploaded to Commons like you would an image uploaded to Wikipedia, in this case: [[File:Pubs in Nanjing 1912 block.jpg]]. Note that this is an automated message to inform you about the move. This bot did not copy the image itself. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 18:41, 15 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I found the same photo in a collection of the 100th year anniversary of Southeast University. The man standing on the right is Gu Guanqun. If it is your own work, could you upload a large sized version? Otherwise I will have to ask to remove it. Thank you.--MtBell 15:50, 22 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your image uploads

[edit]

Hi. Your image uploads appear to be from a number of different sources. As such, I feel compelled to suspect that they are not all really of your original authorship and I have listed them at Wikipedia:Possibly_unfree_files/2011_February_26#All_images_uploaded_by_Godofnanjing. --B (talk) 04:43, 26 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked

[edit]

I have blocked your account because you have repeatedly uploaded images that appear to violate the copyrights of others. Wikipedia DOES NOT ACCEPT images that violate copyright. The overwhelming majority of images on the internet are NOT ACCEPTABLE for upload here. Many of these images you have claimed as your own work, even though some of those claims appear, in some cases, to be obviously false. This is not acceptable conduct. If you are willing to refrain from this behavior and not lie about the source of images, you may request to be unblocked with {{unblock}}. If you upload an image here that is your own work and you have previously released it elsewhere, permission needs to be documented via the OTRS system. --B (talk) 18:33, 11 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Response to email

[edit]

You are not blocked for repeatedly uploading images. Rather, you are blocked for repeatedly uploading images that appear to be taken from other websites. Wikipedia does not accept content that violates the copyrights of others. Unless you, personally, have taken a photograph (meaning you held the camera in your hand and clicked the button), it is not yours. Just because someone posts it on the internet or doesn't charge a fee to view it does not mean that you can upload it here. This was all nearly a year ago, but there were at least three discussions of your images - here, here, and here. The bottom line is that for a lot of them, we figured out which sites you took them from and so that strains the ability to believe that you are the author of any of them. I am not inclined to unblock someone who flagrantly uploads works from other sites. If you wish to ask for an independent review, you are welcome to use the {{unblock}} template to ask for another admin to consider your plight. --B (talk) 16:10, 12 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

Please unblock me since I am going to use my own pictures. Thanks.

Decline reason:

There's no way that you've going to be unblocked to upload any more photos given the huge number of copyright violations you uploaded previously. This is especially the case here given your one sentence long unblock request. Nick-D (talk) 06:59, 13 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
