Dale Whitney Strong (born May 8, 1970) is an American politician. He has represented Alabama's 5th congressional district in the United States House of Representatives since 2023.[1] His district is in northern Alabama, including the city of Huntsville. He is a member of the Republican Party. Before going into Congress, Strong was on the Madison County Commission from 1996 to 2023. He was its chairman starting in 2012.[2] Before becoming a politician, Strong was a volunteer firefighter. He worked in public relations and sales. He also worked as a 9-1-1 dispatcher. In 1989, he received the Public Safety Officer Medal of Valor for helping during a tornado in Huntsville. In 1996, he was elected to represent Monrovia in the Madison County Commission. He was elected chairman in 2012 after the Democratic chairman Mike Gillespie chose not to run again.[3] Strong was elected to the House of Representatives in 2022. Strong ran after the district's representative Mo Brooks retired from the House to run for the United States Senate.[4]
