Tiles and Tribulations is a Coin Chaos minigame in Mario Party: Star Rush. Its name is a pun on the phrase "trials and tribulations", referring to a test of patience and endurance, and it is also the name of a Windows puzzle game released in 1993, though this minigame itself bears a closer resemblance to Tetris Attack. This minigame, alongside Rolling Rumble and Goomba Gold Rush are the only Coin Chaos minigames available after the Coinathlon mode is unlocked.

It is the only minigame that is available in singleplayer mode in the Party Guest version of the game.

Gameplay[edit]

Tiles and Tribulations is a puzzle-based minigame that plays similarly to Triangle Twisters. Players rotate tiles of various generic enemies to match three or more in a row to eliminate them and earn some coins. If tiles are eliminated, the space they leave behind causes tiles to fall while more appear from the top. Bob-omb tiles, when eliminated, explode and have an area of effect that destroys nearby tiles. Item-related tiles can appear if the player collects enough coins; these also need to be matched in a row of three to receive them.
