According to Brian Taves 2012 book on Thomas Ince, Holmes Herbert married Ince's widow Elinor in 1926, seemingly his first marriage. He is notated as having moved in with his two daughters into Elinor's house. He married Beryl Mercer after this marriage when Mercer was well over 50 years old, so I doubt she produced any children in the early 1930s during a busy time in her career and certainly past child bearing age. After divorcing Mercer, Holmes Herbert was married to Joan Agnes Bartholomew who died in 1955. So it is not clear where Herbert's two daughters came from or what relationship. Taves makes it clear he had more than one child by the time he married Elinor Ince in 1926.Koplimek (talk) 17:40, 7 March 2014 (UTC)Reply
