Comprehensive edits analysis
Nsmutte is a user who began editing in early 2014, using a very large number of throwaway accounts to promote an Indian doctor called Yellapu Srihari (also spelled Srehari or Sreehari), as well as articles about "Global Medical Association" which is chaired by Dr. Srihari. They were discovered and reported to SPI by Bonadea. In February 2016 they started creating accounts to impersonate Bonadea instead, in an obvious effort to falsely implicate Bonadea for sockpuppetry and put their contributions up for deletion; at that point they were banned by the community.

Typical behaviour has included creating spurious SPI and AFD pages, as well as creating genuine-looking but poor-quality articles under sockpuppet accounts impersonating Bonadea. They repeatedly raise false allegations about Bonadea at WP:ANI and are easily identified when they do so. They rarely pick other editors to impersonate, such as BethNaught and Favonian. Occasionally they bypass all this and simply drop personal attacks into random articles, such as [1]. Sometimes they also create two accounts (typically within 5 mins): a good hand and a bad hand, the bad one is for vandalising and the good one is for undoing edits by the bad one and files a report to WP:AN3 using bad English.

[edit]

Habitual behavior

[edit]
  • They'll usually put a link to an WP:AN discussion in the bottom of the page.
  • They'll sometimes create a WP:GHBH account to revert themselves.
  • They have poor command of English and poor understanding of wiki markup.
  • They often make small edits to various pages that have no noticeable impact, or posts to talk pages, to gain enough edits to become autoconfirmed.

Cases

Other notes

[edit]
  • A user page and a user talk page will usually only contain their username
  • They are active on multiple wikis, like Commons, Wikiquote and Metawiki. They can normally be easily spotted from orbit, as a brand new user that posts on the local Village Pump or Administrator noticeboard complaining about religious user names, including making multiple socks to argue and/or agree with themselves on the subject. Requesting global locks may be appropriate, but the socks are often burn-accounts, to be discarded after the first local block.
