Talk:United Kingdom hit by huge protests
I certainly don't think it is appropriate to link this protest with the 2010–2011 Middle East and North Africa protests; I have seen no news reports which indicate the U.K. protests were inspired by the ones in North Africa and the Middle East. wackywace 11:08, 26 March 2011 (UTC)
- I agree, the link should be removed. --Nascar1996 (talk • contribs) 11:10, 26 March 2011 (UTC)

Comments by reviewer: including one where a group of protesters ran inside a Topshop store on Fargate. ← I see correlation, not causation. called the March for the Alternative ← unsourced but several people are threatening to riot and occupy buildings in London's West End, including 10 Downing Street. ← no coverage The Indymedia source is not a reputable one, and has not been factored into this review. It probably should be removed. It is misleading to imply that these protests are somewhat linked to the Middle East. As such, "latest nation", "recent protests", etc. should not be in this article at all. Another issue is the timescale: the protest is in full swing, and as such "later today" is incorrect (and so is the expected figure). Questions about the above? Ask. If possible, please address the above issues then resubmit the article for another review (by replacing tasks in the article with review). This talk page will be updated with subsequent reviews. |

Comments by reviewer: Context is missing: reasons for the protests are not explained, and a reader without previous knowledge of the topic would struggle to understand what it's about. Also, it's probably not appropriate to compare the UK protests with those in the Middle East (as the title implies), per the comments further up this page. Tempodivalse [talk] 16:03, 26 March 2011 (UTC) Questions about the above? Ask. If possible, please address the above issues then resubmit the article for another review (by replacing tasks in the article with review). - I can't change the title though, I don't have those rights! So please, can we just leave it as it is? Anyway, if it REALLY REALLY REALLY does have to be changed, someone (an admin) please change it to United Kingdom hit by huge protests. Thanks GeorgeGriffiths (talk) 08:13, 27 March 2011 (UTC)
- Hang on, it says why here... Tens of thousands of people joined marches in London today against public sector cuts by the British government. So I'm going to put it up for review, and PLEASE, forget about the title in the review, I'm going to ask an admin to change it ASAP. So forget about the title, just review everything else. Thanks GeorgeGriffiths (talk) 08:15, 27 March 2011 (UTC)
Done. You need not be an admin to move articles. Kayau (talk · contribs) 08:19, 27 March 2011 (UTC)
